Advantages Advantages Looks good, prints fast,

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too expensive for heavy use

This is another piece of kit from work that weve been using now for about 8 months. The poor thing has been dumped in the computer suite as a workhorse for the hoards of print happy kids who pass through it all day. Alas, it has failed the task - through no real fault of its own. We have another one sat in the heads office that has had one change of the black cartridge in the same amount of time as weve had the other one. The kids one had been through about 7 changes of all cartridges and weve had enough - off the to the staff computers it has gone, to plod away with gentler demand. We cant ... more

Advantages Advantages great print quality - easy to install - small - good LCD display - easy to use menu system

Disadvantages Disadvantages poor print speed - noise

I do a lot of work from home and needed a new printer that would let me print off reports in colour quickly, for a fairly cheap price and it had to be reasonable compact so not to take up much space in my tiny work area at home. Having always used Hewlett Packard printers everywhere I worked their online shop was the first port of call and after browsing through the wide range that they sell I opted for the Color Laserjet 2600n for £210. When it arrived I was amazed by the size of the box, it was enormous but thankfully most of this was bubble wrap. The printer sitting nicely protected in the ... more

Advantages Advantages Good print quality - when it works

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bad print quality on anything except standard paper, unreliable toner cartridges

It's a shame that the Laserjet 2600 is so unreliable as the print quality is excellent. Our experience is as follows: First of all, printing on anything but blank 80gsm paper causes background toner smearing all over the page. We have tried many different types of card stock and glossy papers, all designed for the Laserjet 2600, but they all give the same problem. If you want to print on anything but standard A4 white copy paper, then avoid this printer. Secondly, two weeks into printing, a repeating magenta line appeared on the printouts. After checking the magenta toner, there was a light ... more

Advantages Advantages Low Initial cost, individual colour/black Cartridge refill, efficient, ideal for small business.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive refills, bulky machine.

I have had my HP 2600n for around two months now, and originally bought for small business use, though I have mostly used for personal use at the moment. On arrival I was quite shocked on the size; and as it is situated at home it doe's take up quite a chunk of my office/bedroom. But of course being a HP product the print quality live up to the company reputation of high standards and the speed of printing is satisfactory for my needs. Unfortunately the refill cartridges (like with most laser refills) are costly, at the time of writing this I could not find one less than £50, and as there are ... more

Advantages Advantages a neat little printer that gets the job done

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little noisy and slow

Well here goes i bought 2 of these little laser printers from a local office supplier, I also bought a couple of sets of toner cartridges. things to note about this printer: The print quality has remained at a very high standard. Print costs aren't bad considering every time you replace a toner the imaging unit is incorperated so you also replace that. Now under the sort of use i have put this printer through the costs are roughly 25 pence per printed page but that is with alot of coverage so not to bad at all for a printer in this price bracket. I am a HP fan but this is down to experience ... more
