It's a shame that the Laserjet 2600 is so unreliable as the print quality is excellent. Our experience is as follows:
First of all, printing on anything but blank 80gsm paper causes background toner smearing all over the page. We have tried many different types of card stock and glossy papers, all designed for the Laserjet 2600, but they all give the same problem.
If you want to print on anything but standard A4 white copy paper, then avoid this printer.
Secondly, two weeks into printing, a repeating magenta line appeared on the printouts. After checking the magenta toner, there was a light scratch on the drum. We replaced this, and the printer worked again.
We have now started to have a black repeating mark on the pages, which I presume is down to the black toner, which still has 1500 pages remaining. We are waiting to hear back from Hewlett Packard, because constantly replacing faulty toner cartridges when they have only been used lightly is very costly when you are not reimbursed for the faulty item.
A very unreliable printer.
