Advantages: Slimline, only takes a few U's in the Rack. very reliable. Disadvantages: The new HP Smartstart is not as easy to understand as the original version.
...For those of you who aren't aware HP have taken over Compaq and rebadged compaq Servers with the HP badge.
This is just an upgrade to the Compaq Proliant DL380 G2.
You are still getting one of the most reliable servers in the industry for the right price.
They have also rectified the problem on the last model where there was only 4 bays for hard disks , there are now 6 bays, a FDD and a CD drive.
The server is a slimline model and for those of you who rack their servers, this is ideal as it only takes a few U in the rack.
I have built several of these without any real problems and all have been stable once built.
The only critisimn I can make is that Smartstart, a compaq utility to assist you in building these servers, has been rebadged, HP smartstart and given an overall and so far im not impressed, the screens don't flow...

HP Computer Review ofHP Compaq Business Desktop dx2300 - Pentium D 925 3GHzby
chriscowper
Advantages: decent pc, good RAM Disadvantages: none
...The HP dx2300 has a 1.8ghz processor and has two 512mb memory chips which makes the overall RAM over 1gb with a possible expansion up to 4gb. The hard drive is a decent size as well as it has 80gb of space. The operating system is windows xp which is ok but won't be able to keep up with vista soon! It also comes with a one year warranty. The HP dx2300 is an ideal business class desktop that is full-featured and value-priced. Featuring the power of an Intel processor and ample RAM, the dx2300 gives you all the strength you need to power through the toughest applications. A large hard drive gives you ample room to store all your important files. The micro tower also gives you excellent expandability in a compact form factor. As your business grows, the HP dx2300 will grow with you. The price ranges from £300 to £600....

Great Product Review ofHP Compaq Business Desktop dx2300 - Pentium D 925 3GHzby
meeadoo
Advantages: speed is amazing Disadvantages: none
...I love this computer i am useing it right now infact.
the speed is amazing. with 3ghz you can surf the web at lighting fast
speeds. Well if the HP logo dont catch your eye it should because HP
is one of the best computer making companys around. In my opinion its better than Dell and Gateway combined. There support is great along with there awesome products. If you are looking to buy your first computer and can not pick a company to go with you should pick HP. Hp would be your best pick because they can walk you through any problem you are having with your new computer and they will even stay on the line for 1 hour to fix your problem....
