First Impresions:
Nice Case
P4 = Good (but Athlon XP better)
Medium Specs
Can Play Games
Nice Ammount Of Ram
Won't fall apart on you

Advantages: Cool Case (Didn't I See That In Toys R Us The Other Day???), Cool Specs Disadvantages: Intergrated Graphics = BAD BAD BAD
...like that of the other HP macine. It would look good, as HP are behind it. I don't know why they bother really, they only make 0.08% profit on every machine sold.
The specs are that of a medium PC. The 512mg ram is a nice touch and will open up many games, and a fast load time in games like Enemy Territory. Now, the nicest bit is S-ATA, so if you care to update your hard drive buy the 2 Raptors (10000rpm, S-ATA) and put them into Raid ... ...you just give good old HP a phone and get it fixed. No dought if its RTB warranty they'll get you to pa delevery so just don't break it ok?
DVD-Rom is a nice toch however it is practicly rendered useless by the onboard graphics, so buy yourself a new card and you'll be watching films in no time.
It includes Windows XP Pro but that 'aight any good if its for the home so a old fashioned partition and re-format is in order. more

Onboard grahics bring what could have been a very good machine crashing down to the state of good. However, there is suppost to be a 8x AGP slot, so you can override the rubbish graphics with something decent.
Only 40g's for you to use up on the hard drive so after a few months it'll be a good old delete session, but only if your a gamer.
3 years warranty is good, so if the thing implodes on you just give good old HP a phone and get it fixed. No dought if its RTB warranty they'll get you to pa delevery so just don't break it ok?

A good PC, a very good buisiness PC, could be a gamer's PC (needs a little work though).
Advantages: brand name, small form factor case Disadvantages: expensive
.
On the inside
- P4 3.2Ghz with 400Mhz Front Side Bus with hyper threding
- 2 x 256MB RAM (Total of 512MB)
- 80GB 7200RPM Hard drive
- ATA100 Hard drive controller
- AGP 8x
- DVD & CDRW Combo drive
- Intregrated Gigabit ethernet
The spec shows just how capable this computer is! The gigabit ethernet is very useful in offices, as it's exceptionally quick.
In the future
Yes, this PC is upgradable! There are a few expansion slots, however not as many on a standard machine because of the reduced size:
- 2 x full-height PCI
- 1 x low-profile AGP 8X
It would be better if the 512MB of ram was on one stick, as then you could just add another stick of 512 in the future, but as it stands you may have to buy two more sticks.
The Warranty:

A Three year on-site next business day guarantee ...
Advantages: Great name and good support Disadvantages: poor build quality, flimsy
The Compaq line of small form factor PCs have always been sturdy machines very suited to the business environment.
Compaq used to take care to design a machine without the frills, which would meet most standard business use. Costs were also kept low, and this made for a generally acceptable business unit. The D5xx range has never been targeted at the home user, and probably never will.
Unfortunately, this new machine fails to inspire confidence. Overall, there is nothing wrong with the technologies and speed of the unit. My real issues are around the casing and build quality.
Firstly, it is REALLY heavy. I suppose some may say this is an theft deterrent, but there is no real need for the weight.
This is especially true when you notice that the case is extremely light and flimsy. In a business environment, machines need to be ...
Advantages: Fairly good spec for price, good room for updating in the future Disadvantages: Deceptive price -many peripherals not included. Also apart from processor spec not amazing
equipment and any of the lower specs could be upgraded with your own hardware, as a plus side to this PC is that there is plenty of room to upgrade it without having to buy a new motherboard in the future.
In conclusion my friend found that after he'd bought all of the components required to make this PC work, it turned out more expensive and still lower spec than some other PCs on the market, however as I stated before it could be a good buy in some circumstances. ...
