HP Compaq Business Notebook 6510b

My next review is again from HP business notebook and now I am going to take a notebook which is not meant for gaming purpose but it is completely designed for your business work. HP Compaq Business Notebook 6510b, one of the popular notebooks from Hp and it has some good features and some average common features also. Features are slightly higher than middle range home notebooks and I will discuss here that all in terms of their advantages and disadvantages also.

Design and look
Notebook is completely designed with plastic body with Width33.1 cm, Depth24.3 cm, Height3.4 cm and Weight is about 2.4 kg. 2.4 kg weight is average with compare to many other notebooks and the display size is 14.1" TFT with 1280 x 800 ( WXGA ) maximum resolution support. There is nothing special in this resolution it is common in many other notebooks. HP business notebooks are generally available in black color and they give a solid felling with its design and look.

Processing speed
Here also it has good processor installed with Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor and the total clock speed is about 2 GHz. Front size data bus speed is also good as 800 MHz and L2 cache size is better than many other processors with 4 MB. Over all this is a good processor with excellent speed in any application or complex processing speed.

Memory size
In terms of internal memory this notebook doesn't have a good random access memory and there is only 1 GB of DDR2 SDRAM with 667 MHz of speed. I am unable to understand that why HP has given such a lower capacity of RAM but they have already provided good processor. I think it will be better to keep 2 GB of RAM and for excellent speed it would be 4 GB. There is a option also available to upgrade this RAM up to 4 GB but it depends on customers and according to their choice, whether they wants to upgrade this RAM.

Internal storage
Internal storage capacity is slightly less with 160 GB - Serial ATA-maximum speed is 5400 rpm. Any other notebook in middle range category have a common 250 GB of storage capacity and that is good enough for any notebook but here is slightly lower storage capacity has been provided.

Graphics memory
There is nothing special with graphics memory also, it has traditional graphics card Intel GMA X3100, with about 384 MB of shared memory and it is not a good solution to keep shared graphics memory instead of dedicated video memory. So uin terms of graphics memory this notebook is a good for your daily routine work but if you are planning to buy this for complex 3D applications or high graphics softwares than this memory not a good solution for that. You will need dedicated graphics memory and I had problem many times with Intel GMA X3100 graphics card to run Adobe Photoshop CS3 and 3ds Max. So keep in mind your graphics card as main priority.

Battery back-up
There has been traditional implementation in battery back-up also provided with 6-cell Lithium Ion battery and I am unable to get more than 2 hours of power back-up from this battery. Not a good battery but 8 cell or 9 cell primary battery is a good solution for this notebook.

All other features are common with compare to other notebooks like, audio card, networking, optical DVD writer and all other interfaces. Notebook is in business series so that operating system is also Microsoft Windows Vista Business for you better business solutions.

Over all this is a good notebook for you daily routine work but does not fit with complex graphics work and higher applications.
