Advantages Advantages Slick and easy to use, very good all rounder. Wont break the bank

Disadvantages Disadvantages System can be a little patronising, bad battery life

Summary (In case you haven't got time for the full review) Specifications (the model I purchased) Processor: AMD Athlon™ X2 Dual-Core 1.9GHz OS: Windows Vista® Home Premium Ram: 4Gb DDR2 Hard Drive: 250Gb SATA CD/DVD: DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL LightScribe Drive Display Size: 15.4" Connectivity: Broadband Wireless, Network and 56K Those are the basic specifications, I could go on about the ATI Radeon™ and the Enhanced pre boot security but I won't. Suffice it to say that I have never had a serious problem with it, or even many minor ones. Anyway from the point of view of a student who needs a ... more

Advantages Advantages Great look, lightweight, comfortable to use and nice graphics

Disadvantages Disadvantages No catch for closing laptop, mouse buttons not great

Hello there I work as an ICT Technician and so far I have come across 20+ of these laptops at different specifications. Overall this is a great laptop at a great value but there are two little pet peeves that I have with this model. They are light, comfortable to use, easy to use and look great. The graphical display is usually very sharp and precise. My only problems with this type is that there is no locking mechanism (catch that keeps the laptop shut) but that is just a personal preference and the mouse buttons can be a pain to click at first but once you use it for a period of time you get ... more

Advantages Advantages Robust, value for money, portable

Disadvantages Disadvantages touchpad scroll 'sticks', screen not too ood in bright light

I have been an HP follower for my entire IT career (7 years now) and have generally had no problems from their kit. I have had the laptop for over 12 months and I use it for website development so it runs a SQL database server permanently and a number of virtual PC's as well from time to time and handles it all without too many slowdowns. The 6735s was in that category until it started to play up, this was due to an operating system fault (vista busines 32bit) which was fixed by reinstalling vista ultimate 64bit - fault was centered around the hibernate/standby where the laptop would not 'wake ... more

Advantages Advantages Value, speed, low power consumption, good screen and keyboard, plenty of disk & RAM

Disadvantages Disadvantages No 1394 (Firewire) for my video camera. Unusual hardware prevents full use of Linux

I bought a 6735s for around £400 in July 2009 mainly for domestic word processing, email and web use. Also to experiment with different Linuxes and use as a TV. I bought it to replace a power-hungry P4 desktop but still wanted at least as much power. For the main purposes it has worked fine. It is fast, has been reliable so far and is pleasant to use. It also works brilliantly as a lap-top television, in conjunction with a very cheap USB dual channel tuner and Windows Media Player. It can simultaneously record two tv programmes and play back another one with only occasional glitches. Sound ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing security, durability, fuction, price and design.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I have just recently bought this notebook and have to give it a resounding thumbs up. It is definately a cut above in terms of design, function, security and price! The first thing I noticed when I took at out the box was design. The notebook looks really cool in shape, colour and design. It is also quite light and thin, with a width of 14.1 in, a depth of 10.5 in, a height of 1.3 in and weighing in at 5.5 lbs. The notebook is also quite durable, it doesn't scratch easily and bumbs have no effect on design or function. It also has a nifty feature called HP 3D drive guard; I'm not entirely sure ... more
