HP Compaq Business Notebook Nx6110

Ive been using this laptop now for about 6months and I have to say ive been very impressed by it. This laptop isnt perfect but overall Its a nice solid laptop cable of performing the tasks which I require from it.

Design
Not really much to say on the design front, pretty typical of HP laptops its clean, simple and compact. Its a laptop with the design edge which just gives it that bit of sophistication exactly what you want nothing more nothing less.

The Screen
This could do with some improvement the lack of brightness on the screen makes the enviroment you choose to work in limited as in bright conditions the screen is difficult. On the other hand working in standard conditions in a normal room there is no problem. Themaximum resolution is supports is 1024 X 768. This is ok but i would of prefered 1280 X 1024 although higher models support this.

Input Devices

Keyboard
Not something you can go into great depth but i like the keyboard on this its nice and wide unlike some laptops, I prefer this keyboard to my keyboard on my desktop.

TouchPad
The laptop comes with a nice touchpad, it has a white line on the right hand side which can be used for easy scrolling down waeb pages or documents, which is a nice touch.

Inputs/ Outputs
The laptop comes with limited Inputs or outputs it has
1 X Firewire
2 X USB
1 X VGA
1 X RJ11
1 X RJ45
1 X PCMIA Slot
And wireless 11mbps

The higher models do come equiped with a few more gadgets and gizmos. Its perfect for light use and for just surfing/printing the number of USB ports provided are fine.
The VGA port is a VGA port and i frequently use it for connecting it to my TV. Thats another plus about this laptop the intel graphics options set the TV up easisly by selection what mode you want it in e.g Duel, Extended etc and you can change the refresh rate if your tv doesnt support the default or if it can support higher.

Sound
The speaker projects the sound though the grill at the front and i find the sound quite impressive, at least compared with other laptops. You can comfortably relax to some music or watch a film on it and still manage to annoy everyone in a fairly large radius.

Performance
This laptop wont play the latest games as its not designed to it has the required power to run what it comes with and some word processing application. My laptop has a 1.4ghz processor and 256mb of RAM. One thing I would suggest is that you buy some more RAM as Windows XP requires this as a minimum, by the time nortons is running etc you start using this up pretty rapidly making some application loading times slow.
It comes with a CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive and some intel 915gm graphics engine. This machine also comes with a 5,400 RPM 40gb harddrive which again for basic usage is both plenty of space and is of adiquate speed.

The Package
Comes with some pretty basic stuff Windows XP Professional, Some cd burning software for the CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive, a DVD player and some great little HP applications primarily aimed at improving security.

Battery
The Battery life on this laptop is Superb, I get 3 hours out of it without any problem with standard use. When i say standard I mean word processing with the internet application running in the background. This is a real plus point for this laptop as it gives the laptop its mobility. No one likes running to a power point every 1hr.

Customer Service
Ive never used this so im not going to write much here but Ive heard its excellant. WIth a 1year warranty and toll free phone support.

Overall
This is a great laptop, its light, compact and has all the nessasary stuff to get you mobile. Although your not going to be able to play BattleField 2 on this thing thats not what its for. You can surf the net and finish those important word documents as well as any other laptop. There are a few things i would reccomend however, possibly get a higher model for the extra features like the higher screen resolution and for the RAM, If you feel you will want these. Dont forget this thing has some great battery life.

Advantages

Reasons to buy
If you looking for a nice laptop which does the job of basic home user.
And yes its very easy to clean, i havnt actually collected much dirt on to the laptop. Only the screen which with a quick wipe with a cloth its clean.
