After a full charge at home, Windows reported 4 hours and 14 minutes of battery, dropping to 2 hours and 35 under heavy load (CPU tests and defragmenting!) This turned out to be 4 hours and 9 minutes, and 2 hours 24 when actually left and timed. Both tests were with Wireless LAN off, the screen set to 50% brightness, and power management off.
The screen is lovely and bright, even on lower brightness settings. It has a resolution of 1024x768, and is driven by a 32MB-128MB ATI Radeon Xpress 200M graphics card. The memory is taken from the system RAM, so I personally stick to lower amounts.
The default 256MB of RAM combined with a fast-ish 40GB hard disk provide ample performance, but I upgraded to 768MB of RAM the week I got my machine - the difference is unbelievable! It literally makes Windows load in half the time.
As for CPU performance, the Sempron is certainly no slouch. With a CPUMark99 score of 201, this CPU matches that of my Athlon64 3200+ system!
The speakers on the NX6125 are good, and can go very loud whilst remaining clear and crisp. Volume and mute hotkeys prove handy whilst watching films.
The wireless LAN built intot he NX6125 proved to be very effective, and managed to keep a signal throughout my house - a feat my old Compaq Armada M700 with a PCMCIA WLAN card could never achieve!
All in all, this is an excellent notebook at an even better price. If it does what you need.... BUY ONE NOW!
