It security features make it an ideal machine for business use, especially having the biometric scanner although I have personally that it can take a couple of attempts for the machine to verify you, which a slight irritation but not so much as to warrant you not purchasing this machine.
The security features incorporated into the machine does ensure that any sensitive files you need to have will be suitably protected by multiple password protections to ensure that no-one can accidentally access them.
The machines processor is more than capable of running complex spreadsheets and databases without the machine itself slowing down. To test the capability of the processer I tried streaming High Definition video to my home entertainment hub and I found that this machine could handle streaming 720p definition video without any visible artifacts being produced on the video. The machine starts to slow down when streaming 1080p video but does not freeze showing that this machine has the power to be used for even the most demanding business tasks. Also the fact that the processor is an AMD and not Intel may initially put some people off but the AMD processor is actually designed to work with Windows XP whereas Intel processors are not designed to specifically work Windows Xp so the AMD processor will produce a more stable system.
The wireless connectivity has all the major protocols you will need for connecting to your works network or connecting to a wireless internet hotspot. The machine automatically detects a wireless network and hotspot and it requries just one click to connect to that network.
This machine does lack bluetooth connectivity which may be needed for high end business users, but this could also be incorporated through a USB add on but you can buy the next model up from this machine which incorporates bluetooth connectivity as standard.
One of the draw backs to this machine is the size of hard drive. It is only 60GB and so if you are plannign to use this machine to store and process are large amount of data you are going to need to purchase a separate hard drive, which may not be ideal for your purpose. I personally added a 500GB USB harddrive and the machine detected straight away and I was able to use the harddrive with very fast access time. If you do not want to buy an extra harddrive then this machine may be best suited for your day to day work with another machine used for storing you main business data.
The 7-1 card reader ensures that you have a complete choice of memory card that you can access, which would be very benefically if you deal with taking photos and video footage for your business with different format of cameras.
The machines battery life is approximately 4 hours for "average" use (cheacking email and writting reports) but reduces quite quickly if you start relying on processor intensive applications. The battery does charge back to full capacity in about 1 hour so you do not have to spend a long time waiting to be able to use your machine in a portable manner.
The machines screen is very clear and with a maximum resolution of 1024x768 you can display High Definition video in 720p resolution which may be of benefit if you deal with video rendering and presenations.
The machine itself looks very sleek and professional to look at and is also light to carry meaning you will not find it cumbersome to carry, especially if you invest in a laptop bag.
Overall I would recommend this machine as a very good purchase for budget business users and at a price of approximately £420 is very good value for money
