    I inherited, rather than bought, the HP Compaq NX7400 - my mother had quickly replaced it with a different machine, and this one was left spare. It had been used not more than five times before I received it. Look and feel ------------------- The design is, I think, typical of laptops. One reason reviewers may struggle to describe this laptop is that it so tightly conforms to type. There is nothing outstanding about its performance; neither is there any significant detraction - apart from the extremely poor battery life.     I bought this laptop for work and used every weekday for about 15 months. I was delighted with it - it looks great and is pretty quick running XP with many applications at once (I purchased 2Gb) RAM. Also it has a lot of features like firewire that are hard to find on a decent laptop. But after 12 months the battery held about 5 mins of charge.     I've had the nx7400 with a 2.0gig dual core pentium (for the faster cache) for the best part of 2 years now and find it fulfills all my requirements, bar one which is built in wireless n+ standard. After 2 years the fan is starting to get more noisy, and the trackpad button has started to stick a bit, but thats more down to my environment than the laptops fault...

    Great computer very reliable, wroks fast with 10 pgs opened at the same time. I've never had a problem with this computer.

    i know this is no where near the best laptop around or anything and im nto going to bore you with the specs, just my own opinions cause you can get the specs by clicking a couple of buttons yourself. so here goes, i have had this laptop for a while and have found it to be very useful at times, it works like a wonder and for its price its not to bad. im quite happy about this laptop, it will run pretty much anything without stumbling over itself. with the 1 gb of ram you have no trouble playing games nor running high end processor programs. very easy to connect almost anything to it, with ... more
