It seems that other Ciao users have had poor experiences with the Compaq NX9020, but i decided to wait until i'd used it for a while before throwing my hat into the ring.
I bought the laptop on Ebay for around 180 pounds a year ago, as it has been discontinued this is the most likely place to pick one up, i just wanted something for internet access, music downloading, university work and taking it into Lectures
It has a 1.4 GHz processor with a 60 GB hard drive and 256M RAM, DVD-RW drive, TouchPad mouse and 2 USB ports, and runs on Windows XP.
I've found the laptop very suitable for my needs, it runs DVDs well, has excellent quality sound and runs multiple windows with ease, however if several memory-heavy programs are running simultaneously it can slow down or freeze altogether.
Battery life was originally around 90 minutes, but i bought an upgraded lithium battery off ebay, and on a good day i can get anything up to 4 hours, which makes it far better than the old Sony laptops i had before this one.
The laptop is very easy to use, you can bash away at the keyboard for hours at a time without
Overall it isn't a luxury laptop, and you can get a much better one for around 400-500 pounds, but for people on a budget, especially students, i think this laptop is ideal and reccommended.
