The tray holds 100 sheets of A2 sized paper and it will automatically print this size. When printing A1 you feed it individually through the front bypass slot. There is also a rear bypass slot for use with heavy weight or rigid sheets. It will print onto virtually all media including glossy, semi-gloss and matte proofing papers, plain paper, inkjet, coated and heavyweight coated paper although it does recommend HP papers
The DesignJet 130 was incredibly easy to install; just a matter of loading the software and plugging it in through the USB, ours isn?t a networked version by the way? we don?t want anyone else to have access to it. Our IT department did the install and it literally took seconds and took longer to unpack it than install it. You can buy HP software ...

The HPdesignJet printer, was purchase from the dreaded PC world complete with stand.
**Looks**
It's about 1500mm wide, so it's not suitable for a standard PC desk.
It has a 50mm x 40mm display with three easy to push buttons.
It has an ocean blue strip on the lid and the receiver tray is the same colour.
The large lid lifts to show the internal parts, all printing stops if this is lifted - good safety feature.
To the right hand side is where the cartridges are held.
The stand is an optional extra but well worth it as it takes up a lot of room. This is matt dark grey, with a foldable paper catcher. The catcher is ideal for large A1 prints when leaving the room. (This is because if the prints fall the paper becomes creased, no good for issuing to others)

Well, yes it is and ok it does require ample desk space......... but what do expect for a wide format printer.
I use this printer almost daily at work for numerous graphic design based tasks, from printing documents for proofing purposes to production of employee handbooks and other literature.
The only problem i have experienced with this printer came during installation, whereby the drivers on the disks supplied with the printer werent recognised. However, the situation was easily remedied by a phone call to HP and downloading the newer drivers from their website.
After software installation the setup of the printer and its physical components was very straight forward, this comprises of paper tray, output tray, rear paper feeder, ink heads and ink cartridges (all of which simply plug into place)
