HP DesignJet 8000s

Not a good printer for production. Has a real problem with banding. Heavy coverage areas the printer will have a tendency of extreme banding and ink fade. The high speed rating that the printer is spec'd for is not possible because the printer bands unacceptably when turned to that speed (360 dpi 4 pass). We have to run it at the 720dpi 8 pass mode -- which basically takes the printer 8-9 hours to print a 150' x 48" roll. The take up reel is often temperamental and we end up taping the spools to the reels, otherwise it slips and doesn't wind up -- leaving your entire print job on the floor ... more
