Well, after scouring the internet for reviews on this projector, I decided to buy one. I picked it up for a great price (AUD$550 ex demo model). I wouldnt consider myself a projector expert by any means, but I've seen a fair few in action.
The connectivity of this unit is pretty good. I use this projector instead of a TV at home, and predominantly use the component connections. With a good set of Belkin shilded leads, the picture is very crisp with great colour reproduction. DLP is the way to go - much better than any LCD projectors I've seen.
I've also run video through the composite connections and the quality is not too bad at all.
I've never run the unit through the VGA port but I would imagine it would not be too bad.
The projector is set up about 2.5-3m away from the wall and works quite comfortably without maxing out the zoom to a minimum. (Some projectors I've seen have to be at least 3m away to get a decent picture...**cough...optoma**).
The unit is a bit noisy - so if you are easily put off then it may be a consideration. The noise level is not ridiculous, and after a while you don't notice it (especially with the volume up!).
The exhaust fan vents to the back, so the hot air does not distort the picture at all on colder days and I guess that helps with the noise a bit.
Warm-up & cool down times are relatively short too, which is a bonus.
My main gripe with this projector is the fact that when you watch movies/sport it does not represent very fast moving objects too well. In other words, if you watch Moto GP (for example) you get a little bit of ghosting/blurring as the bikes zip past.
Having said that it is very slight (maybe i'm getting a bit picky). Games are playable on this projector, but once again, a slightly quicker representation of fast-moving objects would certainly help.
All in all, its a pretty decent unit, and if you get a chance to pick one up for a decent price I would recommend one.
Like I said, I'm not an expert but i hope this review is of some help to you.
Cheers, Roman
