A few months ago I went on the hunt at my local computer outlet to find the perfect laptop. In my personal opinion, I very much think I did. The HP G7000 is value for money in every aspect. It's extremely stylish with its slim wide screen but at the same time it's a highly powerful piece of hardware.
With the name HP, comes quality. I managed to get the price down to £450 however I believe the RRP is £499. It comes with the Windows Vistaoperating system which is fairly easy to use and has a great help centre if you are unsure on any aspects of its functioning. It has a fashionable jet black look, which is very durable e.g. hard to mark or scrape and is extremely portable with its brilliant integrated WiFi which has a phenomenal range.
Its touchpad is easy to use, however at times it can be rather sensitive. It has the stand left and right click buttons below it and also has a button above it which disables the touchpad which can be very helpful at times, such as when you are typing, because sometimes you can easily touch the touchpad and it can move the cursor.
It has received great reviews in computer magazines and it has been said to rival laptops up to £800. People who have bought this product are never disappointed and generally it has went above there expectations.

Windows Vista Home Premium - This newest operating system from Microsoft is great and has many great new features compared to XP. 2GHz Intel Pentium Dual CPU - Extremely fast processor which certainly aids to the laptops performance by speeding processes up such as installations etc…
2GB DDR2 RAM - Very fast but is general for most new laptops around this price.
160GB Hard Drive - This is brilliant for holding lots of media on the computer, may that be films or MP3's.
15.4-inch LCD widescreen display - This comes with HP Brightview which allows enhanced graphics so in turn makes films a much more enjoyable watch.
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 - The graphics card is perfect. Its some of the best graphics I've seen on a laptop in a long time and it's great for watching your favourite TV shows.
3D Sound Blaster Pro compatible sound 16 bit integrated - The speakers are fairly good however this is my one slight problem with the laptop, they could be louder but still they are highly acceptable.
Integrated Webcam/built in microphone - This is the most enjoyable aspect of the laptop as you can certainly have some fun with the built in youcam software. The webcam is great for conversations with friends on messenger programs.
3 USB 2.0 Ports - This allows multiple pieces of hardware to be plugged in such as speakers or mousse etc… and it is extremely handy.
It comes with a Ethernet 10/100BT integrated network interface port and a High speed 56K modem port which you would expect in a laptop. Also it has a S-Video TV out port which is handy when you want to connect your laptop to a t.v.
Battery Life - It is very high and generally lasts up to 3 hours. More if you change your power plan as there are a number of options.
Weight 3.10 kg (6.87 lbs) - Very lightweight and is easy to carry around in your laptop bag.
I myself am a student and have found this great for my studies; with purchasing this laptop I received Microsoft Office 2007 and found it essential as I had to use PowerPoint and Word for presentations and such. Overall this laptop's speed and performance is immense and I highly recommend it to any potential buyers, however as I have said, my only slight problem was the volume of the inbuilt speakers but then again external surround speakers can fix this!
