Right the keyboard which matches the HP7540 Screen and the HP Compaq Business Desktopdc5100 Desktop. A similar gray/silver and black colour scheme to the other hp stuff I've reviewed and tbh a similar feel to it, of being an office device rather than a keyboard made for gaming and like all HP products it's very effective.
The keyboard despite looking ordinary enough, isn't, the number pad on this one I'm using is seperate (well attached by a cable as opposed to a one peice keyboard), which is just complicating things from the off. I can only assume the idea is to save space in an office building and have people use the numbers above the letters, which if it is, then why have a number pad full stop?
The quick buttons alluded to in the "advantages" section for those unfamiliar with them, are buttons you press to say go to the home page. Theres 6 of them on here, from K1 (go to home page) to K6 (mute volume). These are a nice addition but seem somewhat under-used.
The hp sense of making things reliable is again evident as the keys are sturdy and look like they will take quite a hard hammering to damage them. They do make a slight noise but then again all keyboards do when you type, don't they?
On the responsiveness front, I'm unsure if an unresponsive keyboard is more to do with the actual computer, but this all works very well together so I'm going to go with the idea it's a 50-50 with shared work. The speed would seem therefore to make it responsive.
It is easy to use, but then again aren't all keyboards? Sorry for this little rant, but since when were keyboards difficult to use?
The value for money, would seem acceptable but not great as it's not really a fantastic keyboard, though it would be suitable for business, and school's/colleges/universities. I may have thought about getting one toom replace my knackered ACER laptop keys, but I've seen chaper alternatives.
In summary- Decent, does it's job well, won't fall to peices, but has an annoying wire to connect the number pad and not enough "quick keys" for my liking.
