Worried about glare? This HP monitor comes complete with anti-glare saving you the need to go out and buy separate filters etc adding additional expense to your purchase. The screen also has an antistatic option meaning it will never attract dust purposely of give you little static shocks when you touch the screen.
A really nice aspect to this HP product is that it comes with 3 years warranty include, anything that goes wrong within ... ...you don’t even need to pay for the carriage back to HP’s repair centre.
The monitor itself is just great, I find myself using the PC at allsorts of strange times early mornings and late nights; and the thing that really used to annoy me was the brightness of the screen in the dark. With this monitor the screen is always at a decent level of brightness or glare if you like.
I’m a relative newcomer to LCD screens with PC’s or come to that anywhere in the house. My old PC rather like a laptop had a built in high gloss LCD screen, and I was most impressed with this and concerned that due to the high gloss effect future monitors would pale in comparison.
This Hewlett Packard 19 inch monitor is incredibly compact, it sits in a space 20 inches wide by 1 inch deep, the stand ideal for limited space areas is designed to fit (stand included) within a 5 inch deep area, if your that tight for space you can literally put your keyboard on the stand giving it that little bit extra stability.
Unpacking the monitor is straight forward enough, its incredibly self explanatory. The stand comes in two pieces which just clicks together, and then you slide the vertical piece into the back of the monitor screen. There are a variety of connections on the back of the monitor which will even allow the connection of audio visual equipment. Power is supplied by a power pack as apposed a power lead, which consists of a pack that you plug into the mains. A nice touch with this monitor (not sure if this applies to all) is that it features a built in cable tidy to keep all the wires contained in a small space.
Once all your connections are made you can switch on your monitor with the use of the power button located on the bottom right of the screen. This button is almost like a touch sensitive button, and is the only area I have concerns over; the reason for the concern is down to the fact that it sometimes works straight away, while others times its a bit more of a struggle. This leaves me to believe (although I may be wrong) that as the monitor ages it might not be a viable option to switch the monitor off or on with the power button leaving a slow but steady steam of power flowing to the monitor (for those concerned with energy efficiency). On the subject of buttons there are five other buttons all again with that sort of touch sensive feel. The first is a menu button this allows you to adjust the Luminance, Image Setup, Image position, colour temperature (not literally but from a theme point of view from cool to hot it makes the colours more vibrant), Input Select, On Screen Display (i.e. on or off), Language Selection (for OSD use obviously) , Information (this gives all the statistics of use vertical size, horizontal, pixilation etc), Reset (this reverts to factory settings), and Exit takes the menu off screen. The auto button takes the screen to the best setting for the colours etc being transmitted through it, so when you’re looking at dark images it brightens them, bright images it darkens. The next button options are a brightness up/down, and contrast up/down option which speaks for itself really. Finally a clock button, once pushed it will automatically display the correct time (programmed through the menu button).

The clarity of the images on the screen is just great, you can clearly see all the outlines, even the Ciao dot outlines are clear. The monitor gives off the most vibrant colours and looking through the Vista screen images, some seem so real and clear that you could just reach out and touch them.
A frequent sufferer of headaches and migraines I can honestly say the frequency of these has halved since the arrival of this monitor in my home.
All in all I’m really impressed with my recent purchase, and it’s hard to get excited in my opinion about a product that literally just displays information. But where as in the past I’ve just paid little thought to the monitor this time it’s always a frequent thought in my mind, when I think about my PC its monitor seems as important as the whole set up, and to do that I guess is some achievement.
My monitor came as part of my PC, however you can purchase this stylish, slim, and lightweight monitor from PC World for £129 either on or offline.

...the entire office into a HP branded office. 1 manufacturer with a great reputation means maintenance and repair is easier as it is all focused in one direction.
Anyway, on with the review.
The screen itself very attractive in appearance with its slim silver bezel and contrasting black stand. Its contoured corners live it a sleek look as opposed to the sharp style corners on older screens. The layout of the buttons used to control the settings of ... ...Being self contained like the HP L1906 is, in my opinion, the best and tidiest way forward.
Back to the performance....Wow! It truly is one of the most crisp and colour rich TFT monitors i have see. The depth of colour for a flat screen is fantastic. Its anti glare coating aids those annoying office strip lights dazzling you in their reflection. I also like the way it can auto adjust almost instantly when I add my laptop to the screen. ...work we are a major HP user nowadays. Mainly because of the reliability and quality of the products. Hey, im the IT manager so the better quality products we buy, the less maintenance and replacing we need to do!
That why when my developers were asking for more screen resolution to maximise their working space, we needed 19 inch monitors that could not only give a bigger picture but also offer larger resolutions than the industry standard 1024 x ... ...x 1024 Resolution which the HP L1906 copes with admirably. Without any problems from refresh rates or screen temperatures, this screen delivers exactly the right size desktop for our needs.
Talking of refresh rates and response times, it is fantastic at reproducing lightning quick action sequences so again makes it a natural choice when choosing a screen for playing games on.
Its a bright and functional screen with vivid colours and able to produce ...

Advantages: Great picture, good colour depth, good features Disadvantages: No sound
Along with our top peformance screen choice of the L1906 for maximum resolution and screen size for my IT team, we currently have a large number of the smaller but equally as good L1706 17 inch Monitors from HP
We are a major user here at work of HP products nowadays. The reasoning behind this is we need reliability and quality of service and products. We want a good product that is robust enough to last the test of time with the staff!
So while I was giving my IT team and developers were a huge screen resolution to maximise their working space, I opted for the little brother equivalent for the general office floor. After all, screen size is a little less important and saving a bit of desk space is more of a premium. However we still needed the ability to handle a good size resolution of at least 1280 x 1024.
It does not seem too ...
