I find it ironic that in a time where everyone else is worrying about money, losing their jobs and crying over their shopping bills, my finances are securer than ever. This comes from a number of reasons. Firstly, the money I am making from the several websites I run has increased exponentially. Furthermore, I am well on my way to going 'off grid'. I have solar panels, wind turbines, and even a small vegetable patch in the garden (although probably not anymore after today's weather). I have therefore decided to use this opportunity to replace all my old appliances and treat myself to a few around the house items, so, providing I have the time, I should be issuing out a torrent of reviews, starting with the HP LP2475w, which is possibly one of the best monitors I have ever owned.
Upon arrival
The monitor was well packaged and it didn't look like there was much chance that it could have been damaged during it's arrival, which it wasn't. All the required cables were there, nothing was missing or damaged and it came with a CD containing all the required software and driver. It came with an instruction manual, which was well laid out with pictures and diagrams, throwing this insult to my technical know-how away, I continued on.
Having taken it out of the box
It looks pretty good, the colour was decent and the design was reasonably eye catching. it's of a reasonable size and doesn't take up too much desk space nor is it too bulky, sporting a fairly flat screen. It has a headphone socket as well as 2 USBports.
Finally, turning it on
It was reasonably easy to install, even without the instruction manual, It was just a case of plugging the cables in and inserting the included CD. When I had finished setting it up, I took a step back to admire it. The picture quality was really good, images appeared very clearly, This is due to a big load of nerdy techno jargon that you can look up on the internet and I'm not going to bore you with here. The monitor also had a pretty wide viewing angle, meaning that it was possible to get a decent picture even from a wide angle (clue's in the title). The 24 in screen gave as big a picture as you could ever possibly need from a computer monitor.
Overall
And exceptional monitor with great picture quality and an amazing screen size, well worth buying as it comes at a very reasonable price. 5/5
