There are a lot of positives with this printer. Firstly it offers very good value for money. It does everything the average home user will want for a very affordable price. The print quality is good and perfect for everyday printing ... ...a page which is a particularly useful feature. This requires you to place the half printed copies back into the feeder rather than doing this automatically. This isn't really much of a problem, especially for the asking price. The printer also works well with transparencies. It comes with a ink cartridge which has lasted me at least a year of regular home use. There are a lot of positives with this printer. Firstly it offers very good value for money. It does everything the average home user will want for a very affordable price. The print quality is good and perfect for everyday printing of letters, etc. It can print on both sides of a page which is a particularly useful feature. This requires you to place the half printed copies back into the feeder rather than doing this automatically. This isn't really much of a problem, especially for the asking price. The printer also works well with transparencies. It comes with a ink cartridge which has lasted me at least a year of regular home use. There are a number of ink-saving printing modes which are very effective, although the lowest is quite poor quality. There isn't any way of monitoring ink levels either. The print speed is very good. The manufacturers claim of 19 pages a minute seems to be about right. Another advantage is the printers small footprint. It is much smaller than laser printers of old and fits easily on the corner of a desk.
On the negative side the printer it pretty noisy. Also, while the print quality is very good, it isn't exceptional. This is to be expected for the price and for everyday use this is certainly not a problem. However for printing jobs where print quality is particularly important you might be better off with a more expensive machine.
Overall I think this is a great buy. You get a very efficient easy to use printer for a great price. The ink cartridges have a decent lifetime and the quality is more than sufficient for almost all printing jobs.

Brought this on impulse when visiting my local PCworld store, I was feed up with my samsung laser printer and its paper feed problems, and can only say how impressed I've been.
Paper feed is great using a range of papers and light card, even works well on transparencies.
Print quality is superb. I often use it at its lowest quality settings with toner saver selected and still find the output fine for most tasks - only using best quality settings ... ...Of course these pictures are only black and white but they still have great reproduction quality. The supplied memory is more than adequate - had to upgrade the memory in my samsung to get it to print high quality pictures but nothing I've sent to the 1022 has failed to print. Speed is great - not just when producing multiple copies but also time to print first page is probably the best of any printer I've ever used at home or work!

Having had an inkjet printer for 5 years, I decided to buy this printer to replace it, £95 seemed really cheap from Dabs and it arrived the next day.
The first thing that struck me was how well packed and made the printer was, everything seemed to be very firm and the waulity seemed excceptionally high. The only annoying thing was that a USB cable is not included, which I think is rather stingy as thats the only way to print to this.
Anyway, setup ... ...and run the excellent install software then plug the printer in - all done. Next my mac, which is usually a pain for printer installation, not with this one, same process as PC and working in a few seconds.
The printing speed is very fast and quality is excellent, the cartridges do appear to be expensive, but you get so many prints out of them, the cost per print is far lower than inkjet printers, although naturally it is only black and white.

If you take a look at Canon LBP2900 you will see that this printer mimic HPLaserJet 1020 and HPLaserJet1022, not only in the design but it take the SAME cartridge (Q2612A or 12A for short)....The seller tell me that and I saw that with my eyes
The top cover should have a sensor to tell you that the cover is closed so if you forget to open it the papers will not accumulate under the cover..
And if we compare it to HPLaserJet1022 you will find that LBP2900 have no tray cover which prevent the papers from dusts (Canon LBP3000 have a tray cover).
LBP2900 produce good quality prints but this printer is an example for the product that you hate because of its software...
