. There is a plastic strip that needs to be removed from the new toner cartridge before it can be used or no ink will come out! The HP 1100 has a clear and sharp quality to its printed images and each of these toners seems to give a consistent printing performance. On the packing HP warn us that the toner cartridge is responsible for 70% of the printer?s imaging system and so if you are not using an HP toner you are not getting HP printing. I can?t really make any argument against this point as my company has a policy of avoiding the use of non-HP replacement toners; therefore I cannot say whether a different toner type would have a dramatic effect on the printing quality or not! Interestingly the toner cartridge packaging does not say whether there are any recycled parts used in the manufacture of this cartridge. If you?ve read my HP 03A ...

Hewlett Packard 03A toner cartridge

Advantages: Ease of use, print quality, reliability
Disadvantages: Rather expensive

This toner cartridge is designed for use with the HP Laserjet 5P and 6P laser printers. These toners are used extensively at the company I work for as we have a number of 6P printers. The 03A is a black ink cartridge with an estimated life of 8,000 pages. (This will vary according to whether standard or presentation modes are used on the printer). This toner will retail at around the £70 mark depending on which supplier you use. The cartridge comes in a large-ish cardboard box and it securely packaged with cardboard holders to keep the toner from being shaken around too much. The cartridge is sealed in a black plastic bag, which seems to me to closely resemble bin bag material! The neat HP LaserJet P1505

Advantages: Small Reliable and easy to use
Disadvantages: There isnt any

The H.P. LaserJet P1505 is an ideal desktop printer for the small or home office setup, great if you're fed up with the running costs of replacing ink cartridges in an ink based printer. The LaserJet P1505 is a small mono printer with a big toner cartridge so it won't take long to start saving money on running costs. Quality is good with crisp clean results. The P1505 is a very simple printer in every way, its easy to setup and use, there is also very little to go wrong. I found the pull down front to be a little on the flimsy side, however when its in use the panel is down and becomes the paper tray so this is a very minor issue.
