When my husband purchased me a laptop for Christmas last year the first accessory that went on my shopping list was a mouse. I had not owned a laptop before but often used my husbands and one thing that I could not get on with at all was the touchpad! So a quick trip to PC world for mouse shopping was required and after browsing the different mice I finally settled on the HP mini laser mouse as it matched my HP laptop very well.

I think we paid £14.99 for the mouse which I thought was an average price, you can still buy this mouse and the price varies depending on where you look.

The mouse itself is a laser operated mouse which to me is a million times better than the ball controlled ones as you don't have to worry about having a mouse mat or the ball getting trapped, clogged with fluff or stuck on anything. This also means that it has a very smooth gliding movement allowing you to quickly move the cursor around on the screen.

The mouse is easily attached to the laptop with a USB connection with the cord being around 1m in length. This means I can be quite lazy and sit my laptop on the coffee table with just the mouse on my knee scrolling through and reading items online, especially Dooyoo reviews!

The mouse is Black with a small silver HP logo on the top and a silver middle section and scrolling wheel. The left and right click buttons have a slightly rough texture which means you can grip the mouse very well and even if your hand is warm it does not feel slippy on the mouse. It is also a very nice shape, going into a slight point at the back allowing my hand to sit comfortably on the mouse. Although I do have quite small hands even for a girl, I think someone with quite large hands would not find this mouse as comfortable to use for a long period of time.

Another feature the mouse has is a small clear button on the top which is a document flip button. You simply press this button to be given the choice of which of the 3 document you have open that you would like to switch between. I will admit that I very rarely use this feature as I forget that the button is there, but it is handy if you are wating to switching between documents quite frequently.

The scroll roller wheel has a rubbery coating which again means that your finger does not slip on it. The wheel has the feature of being a four way tilt wheel which means not only can you move forwards and backwards but also from left to right. I don't use this function at all as it is rather fiddly, you have to push the wheel to the side as well as pressing down for it to operate. I also find the clicky noise the wheel makes quite annoying when I first start to use my laptop but I tend to block it out after a while.

Overall this is a great little mouse, it's practical and functional as well as very comfortable to use. The laser works brilliantly to give you smooth, accurate uninterrupted movements. There are a few extra features that I find a little useless for me but, too many is better than not enough right!
