The design is great with a black body vs blue light scheme which ... ...great for playing DVD/CD's without having to bootup Windows - I can have a CD playing within 1 min. The Altec Lansing speakers are much better than most laptops I looked at, but I wish someday a manufacurer would utilise the body of the laptop to produce some more bass resolution. I have recently bought a MP3/Pen Drive for transferring small files, installed a Bluetooth USB adapter (for Nokia phone connectivity) and the DVD writer handles all other ... more

...price, but that's only beacuse hp have scrimped and saved on the materials! it might as well be cardboard.
if you are thinking about buying this laptop, only go ahead if you are going to keep it on a desk and never travel with it!
if you want a small high spec laptop to travel with then for heavens sake get an acer travelmate, or and IBM thinkpad!
my previous travelmate was in use for 3 years and it never gave me any trouble and even without being ... ...This is going back to HP for repair under warranty next week, then i'm going to get a panasonic toughbook.
Update!
I stuck with the laptop, it went back to HP and came back. it was ok for 3 days then developed a fault, it will just die! for no apparent reason the buttons and the mouse stops working your work freezes, music stops playing, but the screen stays on and the fan keeps on running!! then you have to hold power until it resets for fear ...

Advantages: compact, poerfull, fast, smart look Disadvantages: no blue tooth, no IR
...an IR remote for multimedia with it, but it never worked, neither i could find any IR port, or support on HP webstie for it, If someone knows anything about it, do let me know at zahidjamalkhan@hotmail.com
Anyway, the product is excellent and i will give it full marks.. ...
