It runs on windows vista, something I was in two minds about when I bought the notepad. One the one hand, windows vista is a very fast, very efficient operating system. On the other hand it won't support alot of old software, so keep that in mind if you plan on buying this notebook.

So I purchased this HP DV7 at a BestBuy for $699.99. I will be explaining the the things I liked about this laptop and the things that I didn't really like. Then I will be rating it overall. This laptop imo is really great for the price. I am going to just say it right now, I would recommend it to many people. This fits for the movie type, music type, light gamer type, and a college student. When I first purchased this laptop I packed it with music ... ...off with the battery life. HP claims it gets up to 5 hours with it, but with all the programs I run on it I will average around 2 1/2 hours before it dies. Now this is only because I run more programs than the average user, but since I have an extra battery for this laptop I am all set.The second thing that I will point out is the weight.
