Me and my partner bother purchased hp laptop each from comet.
After 2 weeks by partners would turn on one morning we phoned customer services and they said as we'd had it only 2 weeks we could send it for repair.
This happened and a new mother board needed to be replaced (the main part of the computer) this was a big shock and we both though at the time just a bit of bad luck.
Then after 2 days of using it it would turn on but nothing was coming up on the screen, my partner is quite clued up when it comes to computer and did everything he could to fix it before phoning customer services again.
After 4 phone calls talking to 3 different people, we managed to get it send away for repair again. The laptop came back and the notes with it were, a new screen and another new motherboard.
By this point were both furious as we rely on our laptops for work, so every day we didn't have the computer we were not earning anything.
Maybe a week or 2 later my computer was making a horrible high pitch noise every time i turned it on. Yes you've guessed it we phoned them again.
My laptop came back and had a new motherboard. This very rarely happens to any computer needing a new motherboard it just doesn't happen.
We requested 2 new laptops as this clearly wasn't just a one off as it was happening to both of them, it took a whole week of different phone calls both ways and we managed to speak to someone quite senior in the end, from being on the phone to her for about 25 minutes she said 'hang on a minute, i'm just going to put you on hold' we waited and waited.
'sir it does seem to appear the codes you have given us for both laptops to have manufacturing faults with them....'
Even though admitting to this about 2 months later with all the problems we'd been having they still wouldn't budge on replacing the laptops. Instead the extended the warranty on one of them for 6 months.
I will not be buying a hp laptop, although i do really love there design.
