My hubby has already reviewed this product, but I'd thought I'd add a little slant of my own to this great product.
We seem to buy a new PC every five years in our house. We bought one on 1995 from PC World and another in 2000. Both were Hewlett Packard products and both were very reliable in their own way. Also both the PC came bundled with all the usual hardware and peripherals you'd expect. The best of these - and most reliable to date - was the monitor.
Whereas the keyboard and parts of the PC itself have had to be replaced since the purchase in September 2000, nothing has ever gone wrong with the monitor. Curvy in design and with a surprisingly eyecatching colour scheme of black and grey, it's not bad to look at either.
Function keys are small yet finger friendly and don't infringe of the minimal, modern design and the on/off button presses in and out with no effort, making our TV rather lame in comparison.
Talking of TVs, this is is the first drawback of the monitor: it's about as bulky as one! Perhaps we made a mistake buying a PC in 2000 but hindsight is a wonderful thing and we could never have predicted the flat screen explosion of the last couple of years. The bulkiness does play havoc with space issues and of course that limits the number of options you have for storing oor placing your PC. For example, I would like to move our PC to a particular room in our house, but the bulky nature of this product would stick out like a soore thumb on that room. A flat screen - by contrast - wouldn't.
HP say: "The best way to see the true power of the HP Pavilion PC is with a high-impact, high-resolution HP Pavilion display. Not only are they designed to look great and to work better with HP Pavilion PCs, but these technically advanced displays are super-easy to use and super-easy to customize based on your application needs and personal viewing style. You can choose from three budget-fitting models, so buy an HP Pavilion display to complement your HP Pavilion PC... You'll see the view is great. HP Pavillon M50, the one-touch display, tunes automatically and delivers the perfect picture on the15-inch display, the built-in speaker mounts give you a full-blown multimedia experience"
I'd agree with most of this. The speaker mounts are OK but add to the width of the product and can prove cumbersome so Wayne bought some smaller, external speakers from Game for £25.

Overall: I am astounded by the durability of this product, given that it is used on a daily basis. For an oldfashioned monitor, it looks great, but in a bid to move with the times, our next purchase in this field will undoubtedly by flat screen.
