I bought my HP Pavilion dv21360ea in november last year. The advantage to buy new laptop at this time, is that you'll be able to upgrade to new Windows Vista which will be available broadly January 30, 2007. So if you get a new laptop between October 26, 2006 and March 15, 2007 you will be able to uprade for free to Windows Vista. I have already order it from HP site. It's really easy to do and the only fees you have to pay are packaging and delivery (which is around 12£).

The laptop itself is great. Compact, light enough to carry around and powerfull too. A 14.1 inch widescreen display that is HD ready and features HP BrightView technology makes watching films thrilling. DVD recorder makes writing your favorite movies into DVD's very easy. I really like that little add-ons, for example nice little remote control that fits straight into Express54 expansion slot, great 1.3 megapixel web camera and 2 microphones fitted in the screen, which makes internet calls really easy. Also nearly every laptop has quick lunch buttons, but this one goes one step ahead. Quick lunch buttons here are touch sensitive and highlighted with nice blue color.
One thing that makes this laptop differ from all other is HP Imprint finish, which means a smooth, high gloss case which actually not just looks great, but also hides scrathes or fingerprints.
Built-in wireless (54Mbps) means you'll have internet connection nearly everywhere. These days wireless hotspots are available in every bigger city or you can set up wireless network in your home with a help of wireless router.
Card reader (buil-in) is really usefull if you have digital camera with memory card. Reader supports Secure Digital cards, MultiMedia cards, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, or xD Picture cards. I didn't have any problems using it.
120GB hard drive it's huge for the laptop, but if you have few movies and games to save on it, you will fill it up quite fast. Actually from 120GB, you can only use around 100GB, because the rest of the drive is reserved for Recovery aplication. HP took recovery one step ahead as well. They integrated possibility to recover system, applications and drivers separately, that's why 20GB is reserved for it. There is no need to write recovery DVD, you can do it straight from your laptop hard drive.

This laptop is really powerfull. It's Intel Centrino Duo processor which runs only at 1.73GHz, but it can take everything what you throw at it. Movies, games, all home jobs that you can think off, it will do it for you. 1GB of RAM memory means that you'll never be short for operating memory or the memory needed for the graphics.

HP Palivion 2130ea hides in his case GeForce GO 7200 with 128MB dedicated memory. All the newest games will run on it, but if you're looking for gaming at highest resolutions and settings, you'll have to look for more powerfull desktop PC. This graphic card is enough to watch movies, run Media center or edit pictures or video. Watching movies on your big screen never been easier. S-video cable is already included into package, so you can connect to your TV straight away. With a help of only one button you can switch picture from laptop to TV. It's really easy and the output picture is really good on my 32'' screen.

When you first time open your pavilion series dv2100 it looks like it's full of presents. Besides genuine Windows XP Media Center it has all the software you will need to use all the features of this laptop. Microsoft Works (preparing documents), Sonic soft (burning and copying CD's & DVD's), Adobe reader (reading digital books), HP Photosmart Premier (organizing & editing photos), Cyberlink DVD (watching DVD movies), QuickPlay Direct (specially dedicated autoplay tool), Norton Antivirus 2006 (protection from internet threads - although license is only for 60 days), Help & Support (specially designed support for HP laptops).

I was really impressed by this laptop. I've done a lot of researching before I decided to buy it. I would say it was the best configuration and performance for the price I paid. If you're into new things and want to do everything fast, that's the laptop for you. Just the option that it can run Windows Vista is really appealing, plus you get free upgrade for it. Even if it's going to be your first laptop, you won't have any problems using it. Included software is really easy to use and you can reaquest support from HP very easily as well. I recommend this laptop for everyone (no matter if you're home user or traveller)!!!
