HP Pavilion dv2535ea SUCKS!

Advantages: Looks slick and is comparably cheap
Disadvantages: Nasty surprises for just after warranty expiry date...

...I say this as an HP employee myself, having used numerous laptops before; Toshiba, Sony, Acer, Lenevo and a variety of Pavilion and Compaq flavors.

Battery life reduces as you use it and in one years time, just around the time when the warranty expires your batter life will have come down to around 5-10 minutes.

Many graphic cards in this model are faulty, see below links.
It's due to a notorious NVIDIA graphic ...

HP Pavilion DV2535EA - Good overall, Bad trackpad

Advantages: Good solid home machine
Disadvantages: Terrible trackpad

I've now had this laptop since mid November 2007 and have found it a good powerful laptop for general home use. This machine is aimed at home users and has a multimedia element and great - fingerprint attracting - design. I chose to go for a 14.1" laptop for its combination of low weight and good screen visibility. It is a lot lighter than my old 17" Packard Bell and even a previous 15.4" Vaio. The battery power is satisfactory and runs for about ...
...on. This goes up if you have the wi-fi switched off and are just using it for word processing. The display is good when looked at head-on. However, looking at it from an angle is something that should definitely be avoided. My only major gripe with it is the trackpad. I actually bought it after having a play around with a dv1xxx series machine and had very high expectations. It is absolutely horrendous and skips everywhere except where you want ...
