    Advantages Advantages Full Size Keyboard, Good Speakers, Large Display, Powerfull, Stunning Looks

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Short Battery life, Known issue with manufacturer.

    I have owned the HP DV9030EA for a year now. There is a known issue at HP of this laptop overheating and therfore an extended 1 years warrenty is offered for free via HP. I personally encountered this problem which caused the Graphics card to fail. At power on, you would get no display / external display. I spent around half an hour on the phone to HP and was very pleased with the service i received. They collected the laptop next day and quoted me 14 days to return the laptop. I had my laptop back within 7 days and it didnt cost me a penny! On the diagnosis sheet they identified it was fitted ... more

    Advantages Advantages Powerfull, stylish, many featured, Large display with built in camera and full Keyboard.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Overheating, noisy fan and short battery life. It's large and Heavy.

    The laptop is a powerfull laptop with a 1.8x2 ghz processor and Nvidea Go 7600 256mb graphics card and looks very stylish but has a terrible overheating problem which you can feel if you have it balanced on your legs; even with space for the fan your always jiggleing it about wondering if it has enough air (The fan is quite noisy). It has a large 17inch display, bluetooth and built in camera and touchpad. Full sized keyboard. Touch panel buttons for media centre and quickplay. 4 USB ports, express card slot with tv aereal I like it a lot but it burns out once a year. The graphics card is fixed ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages over heats you can feel it on the laptop, thought it was normal, not.

    To everyone, The HP laptops in my experience have inherent overheating problems. They cause the motherboard to overheat components, like the graphics card. The max warranty you can have is 2 years or the 3 months extended warranty after repairing it. Mine was the expensive top spec model bought December 2006 and broke down just a month before the two years, then it was repaired twice and now they have abandoned me as the 3 month repair warranty is finished just 4 months into the new repair.
