Advantages: Great value Disadvantages: none come to mind
...Hewlett Packard's latest offering is a budget PC that's geared towards budding digital photographers. Until recently, a budget PC may not have been able to run the software needed to edit digital pictures at a decent enough speed, but with the 3GHz Intel Pentium 4 contained processor in this Pavilion, that shouldn't be any problem.
This is helpfully complemented by 512Mb of memory and a generous 160Gb hard disk. The memory only takes up one of the four slots on the motherboard, so you can easily add some more at a later date.
The Pavilion comes with a 128Mb ATI Radeon X300SE graphics card. This might struggle with some of the latest 3D games at high detail levels, but it's very capable of dealing with anything else. ...to transfer all my files from my old IBM system, and since this is on Windows 98 I knew this may be fun!
Also the T760 does not have a floppy disk drive, so I had to use FTP for this
The entire process was completed in 2 days
However on completion the vloume controls had disappeared... and this resulted in a call to the
HP Technical Support
This was made on a Saturday afternoon, which I though may result in me waiting for ages!
The call was charged at 60p/min and I was straight through to an operator (after pressing 1 for Pavilion)
I was then asked for either my phone number or computer serial number
The operator dealt with the problem very quickly, although his diagnosis was a bit extreme and offering a full system re-write
This worried me as I had just transferred all the files over from the old PC, and I didn't much fancy...

Advantages: Good value for money Disadvantages: The heatsink and fan
...or installed later if you already have a paid for disc for Office. Other programs included are Norton Anti Virus and firewall. Quicken, win dvd, and HP Tunes media.
My conclusion is that I find that this is a good value for money computer and one that I find that I will have no immediate need to replace for a long time. Definetely a good computer in the budget low cost computer division....
