I first purchased a DV5 about a year ago, and even now it competes with some of the high end laptops out on the market. With the new DV6 range out their cheaper than ever!
Whatever your needs, the DV5 has it whether it be word processing, gaming, internet, business etc. With its dual core processor and massive amount of ram (anywhere between 2 GB and 4 GB depending on which model you purchase) it’s guaranteed to be fast and handle most tasks you throw at it.
The support available for this product is an added bonus, with HP battery check and HP health check, you can easily locate and solve any problems with your laptop whether you’re a technophobe or not. The laptop may also include Norton Internet Security trial for added safety, whether you choose to keep it or not is up to you. In the unlikely even your DV5 ever does go wrong, HP have brilliant customer support and are willing to pick it up and repair it so long as your warranty is still in date.
The overall look of the laptop is great, with a metallic grey and black look it feels clean and modern. The actual quality of the screen is fantastic and is perfect for viewing photos, videos etc, as well as having an inbuilt webcam and microphone. Also just above the keyboard is a media bar, which features all the icons you need in a thin touch screen bar that adds to the effect. By no means do you have to use this as there is a media remote included with the laptop.
To conclude the DV5 is a fast, cheap and reliable laptop which I find very hard to put down. The only downside to these great laptops is they have a heat issue if you’re running intense programs on high performance, in some cases it gets so hot it shuts itself down to protect internal components. I would advise buying a heat stand for this laptop which is often rather cheap. Other than the heat issue this laptop is great, I would recommend for anyone looking for a budget high end laptop
