    Disadvantages Disadvantages too many little flaws and you're tied into old flakey drivers

    When my much loved laptop started to get a flaky screen problem I decided to upgrade looking for a larger screen with full HD specs and my search kept coming back to this HP DV8 as the best features vs. price result. Undoubtedly it packs in plenty of features for the price. The screen is big bright and crystal clear. Matched with the GPU and CPU, twin hard drive and blu-ray player the hardware is really good value. Built in sound is good as is the quality of the microphone and webcam. Overall the looks are great and it is a very stylish product. So how about the design flaws? The windows ... more

    Advantages Advantages no advantages at all over any other rivals- who have less expensive more reliable products

    Disadvantages Disadvantages To many to mention but a key one is - poor after sales

    I have owned a DV8 for just over a year. I read all the techi reviews before its launch, and it certainly looked like the smartest product to buy. WOW ! what a different story, is the reality. The pictures are clear, but any light in the room reflects onto the screen making it very difficult and tiresome to view the screen. If you intend it for normal everyday use, its very poor and hard work to use, although the finger print recognition is good, when it decides to work !. Not sure about gaming , as I do not game. Since the very first few days of owning it , I have continous problems with it ... more
