Advantages Price, HDMI Connection to TV, colour choice ,automatic updates, easy to use , Fast.

Disadvantages Sometimes battery drains quicker than I would expect it too.

Purchase + Price

This is the first laptop/notebook I have ever purchased. To be honest I didn't have a clue where to start. Luckily my partner knows about the spec/technology kind of things.

The only decision I made was to pick the one that I liked the look off and within price range and he checked the spec/features.

I chose this laptop in Pink but it comes in many colours depending where you purchase your item from. I have since found out it comes in purple which was the colour I originally wanted but I can live with my decision!

We bought this lin 2011 in Summer for £450 from PC World. It was on offer at the time. They since reverted back to full price. and now have it on offer for £350.

Delivery and Packaging
Our Laptop took three working days to come. I believe you can pay extra for next day delivery if you wish from PC World and probably most big retailers.

The G6 came in a cardboard box with a smart design. The laptop was very secure and well packaged inside and was wrapped in bubblewrap. The box included

HP G6 Notebook
Power Cord,
Power Adapter,
battery,
"Begin here" guide,
HP manual

I did not actually use the manuals apart from a flick through so cannot comment on how useful they are. I keep them and will refer to them if I have to. There is plenty of support on the laptop online and offline as long as its working. I have rated the instruction manual as good though going by what I have seen with HP's online/offline support.
Set up

I unfortunately can't really comment on this aspect because I had no involvement with the setup. I usually leave the set up of products to others then butt in when things are up and running! But I am assured by my partner it was simple and straightforward (for him anyway)

Useful Information

Some important details I've picked out from a long list

Processer - AMD Dual-Core E2-3000M - This is gobbledegook to me but apparently it helps the laptop run more effeciently.

Operating Sytem - Windows 7 Home

RAM - 4GB

Screen Size and features - 15.6 and HD!

Memory card reader

Webcam

Altec Lansing Speakers

Microsoft Office Starter amongst many other programs.

HDMI connection to connect to large screen tv - This works really well but probably best referring to the manual to set up, unlike us who spent 15 mins guessing but got there eventually.

You can find the full list from the retailer.

A bit about my laptop

It does everything I expect of it and more. Having never purchased anything from HP before, I was very pleasantly suprised.

The setup was easy according to my partner. There is an HP support helpcentre on the computer but I have never had to use this.

When we purchased this we could not find reference to HDMI connection on the website. I was very pleased when this was delivered to find out there was. I use this often so I can watch Tv programmes on demand from the laptop on the tv.

It is very robust . Having been knocked over and bashed by my toddler a few times it is still working perfectly!!

It was advertised as long battery life, but I don't feel that it is.
