A mid range ink jet printer that has all the bases covered, set up is simple provided you read the instructions first. Printer is supplied with everything you need to get going except the USB cable which cost me nearly £20. On first impresions the printer seems quite flimsy very "plasticky" with both input & output trays at the front, these fold away under the top cover when not in use, also under the top cover is an another storage compartment for the (supplied) photo paper cartrige, when not in use the printer stores very neatly. You can use the printer on its own by inserting your media card in the card reader slot which takes most media types or you can print via your pc, either way the results for photos are astounding. The printer is relatively quiet and quite fast as well,if you want true photo quality prints with no white border then you must use HP,s own brand photo paper which has a tear of tab to produce 6x4 inch photos The price for the printer is good value however the hp paper and ink is not cheap,a HP photo ink cartridge is over £20 and 20 sheets of HP 6x4 inch photo paper cost me £8 but the results speak for themselves. It may be posible to reduce these running costs by using third party consumables but i havent tried any yet so cant coment on these The printer retails for £89 in the high st but you can get it cheaper online or by shopping around try Dabs or Amazon. I got my printer & a HP digital camera plus memory card and consumables from Comet online for £200 i reckon i saved about £30-40 of the seperate selling price, online prices always seem to be better value as the instore price was £20 more. Finally a BIG thank you to all the Ciao members who E Mailed me with coments & suggestions after my first review very helpfull thank you feels like a big family

Welcome to Ciao! We have an old HP deskjet and also used to find the cartridges very expensive, but we now get them refilled at under half the price, and they last just as long. It would be useful if you could put the price of the printer in your review. Sue
