This is an excellent product. Ideal for day to day general small office requirements and for printing out those treasured digital photos.

It also comes with a couple of ink cartridges to get you started. Use any paired combination of HP 56, 57 58 and 59 to get the desired results be they photos, documents or B&W photos.
HP provide their own photo management software which is comprehensive but a little clunky to use. Experiment is required to fully understand and get the best out of this. For instance - we have only just managed to understand what the eMail button on the control panel is capable of (auto attaching a photo from a card into your eMail program, or office document, of your choice)
Other features of note are - the 6x4" photo paper input tray (so far unused by ourselves) We have printed on A4 photo paper -a small supply being included in the box we purchased.
and a small LCD screen that lets you manage your photos directly on the printer via one of the 4* integrated digital camera card readers, or the data port to which the camera can be connected directly.

Performance is splendid with print quality being determined through the Printer Properties selected in Print Preview. Fast Draft is VERY Fast and ideal for printing drafts in either colour or B&W with spot colour. Photo's on glossy photo paper and with BEST or MAXIMUM DPI options selected produce photo quality output that rivals that of professional printworks.
We have experienced two problems with the printer -
- A cartridge was not installed correctly? and caused the carriage to jam - prompting a visit to PCW where a little shove sorted the issue.
- We constantly received, not very helpful, error messages from the printer on our desktop causing us to reboot the PC. We determined that moving the connection from a 7 port powered USB hub to a direct USB connection in the PC resolved these errors.
Overall an excellent package in a nicely designed format. The desktop footprint is a little large needing up to 20" of depth but for those eager to maximise shelf space the printer is no more than 9" high - paper feed is front loading and front ejecting.
Very impressive. Fast is fast and quality is superb. This printer from the 7700 series is available for about £150 at time of review. Ink usage is a little heavy in quality mode - but you do get the quality!
(We run our 7762 connected to a wireless network comprised of 4 PCs each with a different version of MS(tm) Windows(c) installed)

HP have clearly come a long way from the good old days when they just produced brown sauce. Sounds far more cool than my top-loading, front-spewing thing ... but there again, mine was a bargain as it was hauled from a skip by my very enterprising bro'. A far too good first review.

Very good start there, well done. Seems to say all it should about the printer, although I've not had much experience of the things. I can just picture theediscerning's mum trying to change ink cart sometime in the future lol!
