Here we have an excellent print. It arrives with the best HP cartridges, the photo cartridge containing the brand new high tech ink by HP, allowing better tone for things like skin on photos.
With its 6x4 photo paper cartridge, printing snaps is easy, especially since it can read four different memory cards, not to mention allowing USB connections direct to your camera.
One of the faster photo printers, there is less of a wait when printing your pictures, but dont expect them to fly out at lightspeed, it may be fast but its not a miracle.
The package comes with very easy to use software allowing easy, thought very basic, photo editing, and some pretty good product support.
One of the major downsides to this printer is that, if you want to keep your "high tech ink" for your fantastic quality photos, it'll cost you. With the tri-colour cartridge tolling up at about £25, and the photo cartridge at about £29, you'd better not get snap-happy. Even worse, I only got one refill into my cartridge, the next one I tried damaged the incredibly delicate print heads on these cartridges, forcing me to spend large amounts of cash on new cartridges. However, some would say that this is not classed as a disadvantage, in that when buying a printer, you should be prepared to pay the cost of the cartridges. Maybe, but I think refills should be available to everyone.
Overall, this printer is well worth the money, having found it on offer in nearly every shop that sells it. Just remember, it's not going to be a one off payment, printing your own photos may be convenient and exciting, but its expensive too.
Advantages: Prints good quality photos whilst also good as a home office printer Disadvantages: Cartridges are quite expensive for the unit
...I found this printer. The HP Photosmart 7850. Let's start with the brand. Hewlett Packard have always, to me, been THE make of quality, consistent printers. I still use on another computer an old deskjet and it serves me as well as it did when it was brand new. The 7850 is no exception. Its space saving with the paper being loaded at the front of the unit - a common feature of HP printers, it prints quickly and quietly without problems or malfunctions, ... ...from that the HP Photosmart Printer is a great printer for a family computer or could even be used on a home network as the main printer of the house. It is modern but flexible enough to be used on Windows 98 upwards. I would recommend the printer to anyone. ...

Advantages: Good Printing Quality, Some Nice HP freebies, Install Plug And Play Easy. Disadvantages: Slow Colour and Photo printing time, The Price of The HP Cartridges!! Irritating software.
...it was HP or the website's fault, but I shopped around and nabbed a cable for £3. The software that comes with it is also very very annoying! It sets up a few background process (ultimately just slows your computer down) which as far as I can tell do nothing! ...
