Advantages: Very cheap inks, extremely ink efficient Disadvantages: Shakes a lot!
The HP Photosmart 8250 is the third printer I've bought, and it's definately the best.
While it's print quality isn't quite as good as some printers on the market, it's definately amoung the best for the price - I paid only £99 for mine!
The big advantage the 8250 has over every other printer out there is the ink efficiency - not only are the cartridges cheap (about £6-7 for each colour), but almost all the ink inside makes it onto the paper.
... ...the heads are huge and enclosed, so no dust gets inside them.
Normal inkjets clean the heads by squirting ink onto a sponge - the 8250 sucks the ink into itself and cleans out the airbubbles, as there won't be any dust there.
The size of the head also means that it prints very fast - even on 'Best' mode it produces an A4 photograph in around one minute.
