...on. As it happens, the HP 850 is not universally admired by photography buffs, partly, I suspect, because it isn't made by a 'proper' camera manufacturer, and partly because you can't override all the controls and force it to take really bad pictures.
However, to my mind, it offers exactly the right feature set, which is a well thought-out middle path between point-and-shoot and manual override of everything, which is only important if the automatic ... ...hot sellers nowadays...
HP have also very sensibly gone to a camera maker (Fuji) for the lens, while they have applied their own expertise to the rest of the camera. The result is that the menus are very clear and intuitive, and almost any of them can be interrupted to shoot a picture simply by pressing the shutter button. Advantages: 8 x Optical Zoom, Good battery life, 4 megapixel, Easy to use, 60 second video capture Disadvantages: Too bulky for some, adapter needed for optional filters, looks a little plastic-y

It has a few advanced options if you are brave enough to experiment, for example you can set the shutter speed and the camera will choose the exposure or vice versa (You can ... ...lots of steps inbetween).
There are 3 different quality setting with the lowest compression producing 1.8Mb file sizes.
The zoom is mighty impressive with an 8 x Optical and after that the digital zoom kicks in and as it digitally zooms it displays how much the quality is suffering (i.e. It drops from 4 megapixel down to just below 1 megapixel quality but that is very very zoomed in.
It has a self timer which is handy and can also record up to ...

Well I bought this printer about 12 months ago because I wanted a cheap, good quality HP printer with a card reader that could print good photos and documents, and that's what I got, a good sturdy printer. I'll just go through a few of the points about... more
I chose the HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One because I had the C5180 before but I wanted one with an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), which the 5180 lacks, so this is more of an upgrade for me. That aside, I prefer multifunctional printers because I do... more
The PhotoSmart C8180 is the most complete AIO I have had the pleasure to use. The CD/DVD burner is a stroke of genius; it makes an already compelling product groundbreaking. The moment I saw the drive in the printer I hoped it would work the way I... more
This is indeed the best printer i have ever had. It has 6 inks, 1 black 5 colour.
The reason why i find it so good is that i have printed off about 20 A4 photos on photopaper, and about 80 on t he 6"x4" photopaper, as well as about 400 Black and white... more
