This has to be one of the best all round digital cameras on the market today, and I've tried a lot!!! The 5MP pictures, taken through a Pentax made lens, are excellent and can be enlarged to huge sizes without losing clarity. It has action, portrait and landscape priorities as well as the auto and, all too important for some, fully manual mode. Exposure compensation is very easily accessed and clear to use. The golden nugget of this camera is, in my opinion, the digital zoom, after you have used the 3xOptical zoom you repress the zoom in button and a clear frame contracts within the LCD screen (this is NOT visible in the optical view finder) so you can see clearly the part of the picture you are digitally zooming in on.. So simple yet brilliant!
The controls are very clear and simple to use and nicely spaced so as to avoid mistakes, the flash modes are accessed by a single button on the top as is the macro mode and video, ie; you see that rare butterfly, hit macro, point and shoot and it’s taken the picture, no messing with dials and screens, it’s the same with the video, in the middle of taking some snaps and a “live” event takes place? Simply push the recessed video button instead of the snapshot button and you’ve got a lovely quality mpeg to play with.
You can do all manner of things to the picture whilst they are in the camera, including (by virtue of a full interface with Outlook and Outlook Express) selecting those that you want to email when connected to your PC, it’s at this point that HPs connection to the computer world really blows other manufacturers away! The Photo and imaging software is as good as anything on the market for most of us and the Memories CD creator makes it so easy to put together a CD full of photos to music which can then be played back on a DVD player onto anybody’s TV, a fantastic way to share memories.
I’d also highly recommend the optional Photosmart 8886 camera dock as it allows you to recharge the enclosed batteries and connect directly to a TV as well as a Printer or Computer, which is ideal for clear editing on a long holiday, it’s also one of the smartest docks around. All in all.. Simply Brilliant.
Advantages: Cheap and decent quality Disadvantages: Lack professional features
...thats why i chose the HP cam. The batties on my camera work fine, but only 2 hours before the recharge. I don't know if this is standard or not, its probably because i use the movie feature a lot.

Advantages: Fantastic picture quality, good value, easy to use Disadvantages: I am struggling to say anything negative
I was looking for a camera that was easy to use. With so many cameras to chose from and so many options on specification. I found it difficult to chose. I struck lucky as I really believe I have made the best choice.
This camera has everything. It is small and neat and very user friendly. It didn't take up too much room in my in my hand bag for a night out. It has 5.3 mp and 21x zoom range and all for £250. It has lots of options so for the more ...
