The HP Photosmart E317 digital camera is a very stylish camera at an affordable price, easy to use and takes wonderful pictures. What more could you ask for in a camera.
For power the HP E317 requires 2 double A batteries which are included with the purchase of the camera. It has a 5.0 megapixel resolution, 4x digital zoom, 16 Mb internal memory with a SD card slot, 1.5 inch color image display and the capability for video with audio. The HP Photo Smart e317 is an excellent camera for the beginner or more advanced photographer, and is made even more attractive by its relatively low price.
My camera has been enhanced by an SD memory card, which at 256MB gives you an extra 100-200 pictures - and you will need this as the initial camera memory is only 18 pics!!!!
However, this aside, the HP e317 is a very good camera. It has a very clear digital display screen, with easy to navigate ... ...is easy to use, but does add on some extras to your pc which can cause problems (the online help and update service is particularly annoying, and I have uninstalled mine as it would grind my pc to a halt at times).
On the whole, this is a fun, easy to use, compact, lightweight camera, which gives good results and excellent value for money. ...

...is a great camera. The HP PhotoSmart E317 is extremely easy to use and the style of the camera is perfect. Its also nice and small so you can take it with you anywhere.....its just perfect. I still haven't found one problem with this product. Everything works 100% and you dont even need to customer support since its so simple and easy to use. The camera is very affordable....depending where you buy it but it seems that if you purchase this product ... ...you can also use the HP photo software to edit photos and print them. This camera is just about a year old now but hasn't sold amazingly...I think down to not being advertised the best, but overall this camera has pretty much everything, and picture quality along with the software is 100% greatness. Hope this review helped and even if your thinking about buying this camera.....DO IT! you wont be dissapointed, trust me! ...

The LCD display on the camera is also very small and whilst using the video function of the camera you can not zoom in or out which can be quite annoying if you are trying to film somethign at a distance for example on holiday when you have to be a certain distance from animals say. I bought this camera for my birthday in feb. I think it's a good camera if you are not a frequent user. I wouldn't say it's the best camera ever but it's good. The coour quality is quite poor in my opinion and people come out too light. It came with two normal AA batteries but that did not last long because it has poor battery life i ended up buying rechargeable batteries.
