Having read the review of this HP TouchSmart IQ770 I was doubting whether or not to buy it. However I am very glad that I did, I absolutely love it This PC has a lot going for it, it is very stylish and modern looking, excellent 19" TFT screen which can be moved up and down to suit most peoples height. The keyboard can be slotted just under the pc into its own niche which, if you need it, gives plenty of space on your desk.
The keyboard and mouse are both wireless and you have to configure them to pc when you first set up. I must admit the keyboard can be a bit tempremental in that it will often not type the key you hit, or will type it twice, but must also that as the keyboard is quite small, it is sometimes down to me as I hit the wrong key. I also feel that the keyboard needs to "warm up" before it will start to behave. I have not as yet got onto HP about this problem but will definitely do so in the near future.
I am also very happy with the touchscreen performance, it is very useful after spending a long time either using the mouse or keyboard to be able to just sit back and touch the screen. Make sure that you use the stylus provided otherwise you will end up with lots of finger marks on the screen.
At the back of the pc there is a HP photo printerdocking station to enable you to print direct from your pc either with a media card or from the hard drive, this accounts for the weight of the pc, which is quite hefty.
It also comes with lightscribe DVD/CD drive which enables you to print direct to the dvd/cd, of course you must have the lightscribe dvd/cds but these are quite readily available. I find the lightscribe a real boon, no more messing about with marker pens.
It came with Windows Vista Premium, which is taking me time to find my way around after using XP for some time, but I am getting there slowly but surely.
You can work between Windows desktop, Windows Media Centre and HP Touchsmart centre, they all have varying programmes within each area, and of course you can open each programme just by touching the screen i.e. the weather, a web page, your photos etc.
It comes with lots of other features, such as a bulletin board (with post it notes) you can either write a note, or record a message. A built in webcam and microphone to enable you to talk to friends and have video conferences.
The reference guide that came with the pc is very easy to understand and follow and very useful.
