Advantages: Intel's 845 chip set allows PC manufacturers to pair Pentium 4 CPUs with SDRAM instead of more-expensive RDRAM. HP's latest Vectra, with a 2-GHz P4 and 256MB of PC133 memory,
Disadvantages: The speakers integrated into the system case produce lackluster, tinny sound.

...Though the vents on the front of the gray and blue desktop are reminiscent of the grille of a Ford truck, the case does sport some features that should prove useful to IT managers, such as chassis-intrusion detection and easy interior access. To open the system, just lift a latch handle and then pop off the top. Inside, you can access the three open PCI slots and two drive bays (one for a hard drive only) without tools. You can insert drives after you snap off the front panel, and add expansion cards after pressing a green tab, which pops off a support cover. With HP's Ultraflow cooling system, the components stay cool with very little noise. this is a very good pc overall i wouild definetly recommend this to any1... Read review

Helluva Package

Advantages: Fast, reliable, quiet and affordable.
Disadvantages: Shame they don't come in luminous green.

...for a long time that hasn't received the usual initiation to my family of computers - a hefty kick in the side followed by much shouting and swearing (Hey, they seem to work after that; even a Packard Bell!) The system has only crashed once, but that was due to the shat software that it came with. Yep, good old Windows does it again! Setting the machine up in the first place is also nice and easy, with all the plugs colour-coded, clearly showing what goes where - ideal for a novice. Another good aspect of HP is you don't have to sell a kidney to be able to afford one. They are affordable to anyone willing to pay for a machine with a decent spec. I would highly recommend HP machines to anyone: Let's hope they can teach Compaq a thing or two!... Read review
