I bought this monitor as it boasted a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a decent 5ms response time. This specification at a price of £229.99 appeared irresistible! And quite rightly so. There are very few other 22" monitors that have the same contrast ratio and 5ms response time that are manufactured buy a 'decent' if you will and trusted brand. Yes there are cheaper 22" monitors out there, but not by much, and they just wouldn’t do justice that the HP can. The primary use for the monitor is use with my desktop pc; however one can easily link up an Xbox 360 or play station 3 for a great gaming experience. It is HDCP ready meaning that it can support new High Definition content and the new HD capable graphics cards that are now entering the market. I thought that this HD capability was just fantastic. Although a HD television would give a better quality HD experience, I still feel that for £229.99 compared to a 26" television pushing £500 perhaps, that this HDCP feature is great! The shiny/glossy finish adds to this monitors appeal, however I do notice that form time to time when I have a bright light aka the sun though my bedroom window!! Shining on the screen, it can cause some glare and a sight viewing discomfort. Apart from that, the glossy finish makes DVDs and gaming a much better experience.
I bought the monitor 2 weeks ago from Woolworths. However, Comet is the supplier of all Woolworth’s electricals such as this monitor and therefore I will focus on Comets service. The price of £229.99 was practically unbeatable anywhere else, proving that Comet does have very cheap electricals. The product was delivered on time and with no delivery charge. Upon opening the box, I was pleased to see the was screen intact and looking as awesome, if not better than it did on the internet. The installation was quick and easy, with the bundled wires easily slotting into the required ports. Overall, I am thoroughly pleased with the performance of this product and recommend it to any potential buyers. (My first review, please be nice! :) )
