This PDA (Pocket PC) does exactly what I wanted and does it simply. At work my world revolves around MS Outlook, and in particular, hundreds of contact details, lots of e-mails daily, appointments and task lists. I wanted something that would enable me to have all my appointments, contacts etc. in my pocket so that wherever and whenever, I knew what I had coming up, and had up to date contact information and access to e-mail that I had't had chance to read properly during the day.
I shopped around and the HP IPAQ Pocket PC 1910 seemed a compact, reasonably priced PDA that would give me what I wanted.
The item itself comes with a removeable / re-chargeable battery, USB synchronisation Cable (this bit makes it all easy for me!), AC adapter, stereo earpiece, charger adapter (connected to the AC Adapter). A CD is provided that contains various software applications such Outlook and ActiveSynch.
The PDA has Pocket Word and Pocket excel installed on it plus various games and utilities. There are several nice features such as the record button - handy for quicki verbal notes, and the 2.5mm audio jack / earpiece allows the PDA to be used for playing music files (separate software required).
Programmes such as Pocket Word and Pocket Excel I have found not to be very practical to use with the small screen size, but the "notepad facility that allows to write freehand on the screen using a sylus is very handy for writing notes.
What did "float my boat" was the ActiveSynch software and the AC Adapter/Charger/ USB lead.
I leave this permanantely connected to my Lap Top PC at work. Each morning I plug in the PDA which literally takes 2 seconds, and the PDA synchronises with Microsoft Oulook on the laptop AUTOMATICALLY. When the PDA is plugged in it is also automatically being re-charged.
When I leave at night, or go to meetings, I just unplug and stick it in my pocket - and I have all my latest contact details, appontments, e-mails and tasks at my finger tips
I have found this PDA to be exactly what I wanted, and the other features were really a bonus for me.
