I've owned one of these for the best part of six months now, so I'll try to describe it from the experience I've had with it.
The avowed purpose of getting it was to use as an organiser. Anyone with two braincells could tell this was overkill. A £30 Palm III does this.
The actual uses this has been put to are:
Emulation (GBA, SNES, NES) Gaming - Rayman, Age of Empires
Organisation - well, it actually works!
The organisation requires a little more explanation. It features a spreadsheet like calender program that can be used for homework assignments, notes, birthdays etc. As far as calender programs go, it takes some beating.
Pocket versions of excel and word are available, as well as cheaper freeware text editors. Useful for taking notes, but using this for heavy data entry would be a no-no.
Input is achieve with a stylus. The screen is as sensitive as could be desired. There is support for graffiti or an onscreen keyboard.
Size and weight wise, it's about the same height as a mobile phone, but thiner and wider. Easily stowed away in a pocket. Weighs less than most mobiles.
Mine came with a nice leather case, though this may not be standard on all. Make sure you have something to keep it in, or the screen could be quite easily damaged.
Finally, the quoted battery life of eight hours seems about right. If you choose to overclock your Ipaq (possible, but ill advised) the battery life decreases dramatically.
In conclussion, if you get one, which I believe you should, make sure you're honest about why you're getting it - its a toy!
Oh, and get an expansion SD card for it - 64mb isn't enough.
