The iPAQ 1940 is a very handy little device. I personally use it to organise my day and to listen to music. I purchased this about three months ago and have not had any service problems. I have not had to contact HP with any problems regarding this PDA.
Firstly I shall talk about the memory capacity. It has a memory of 64MB not very much if you want to store music. It can only hold about 15 songs. To me this is too little so I have purchased a larger SD card which slots into the top of the iPAQ. It has windows media player allowing you to play many different formats of music including, WMA, MP3 and AAC. Although many would not choose to pay £200 to use it for music, you must think of all the other benefits you get from it.
Next I talk about the SD slot at the top of the device. This can be use for many things. I have also purchased a camera which attaches to the top and I can use it as a web cam to use on "Pocket MSN". SD cards are widely accepted in most modern technology and nearly every device can read a SD card.
Using this device is no chore thanks to a quick little processor. Opening up applications and games are quick and effective. I never have problems with the speed of the device as it is really fluent in all its operations.
The screen of the device is touch screen as you would expect on a pocket PC. It is bright and clear. The screen resolution is much better than previous iPAQs. Offering you a great picture. This means that you can view your photos in a great quality and also view videos in a decent quality.
The settings are all easy to use and change. The instruction manual is also easy to follow. I must say if you buy one and you ever need to reset it then unscrew the end of the pen and a small bit is released. That bit is specially designed to be pushed into the reset button. Pretty neat!
The iPAQ also comes with a Bluetooth device which makes data transfer that extra bit easier. Also active sync to the computer makes data transfer easy also.
There is a few things that are less appealing. I feel the extra buttons along the bottom of the iPAQ are really fiddly and pointless. Also the noise it makes when you tap on certain things drives me crazy. That is a problem that can be fixed however in the settings.
Personally I feel no regrets buying this and I have been as honest as I could. I hope that this review will be helpful for you. I stress if you are looking to buy something small and full of gadgets then this piece of kit is great fun and well worth it if you can snatch a bargain.

My old filofax is falling apart so thinking it is time I updated to a PDA. Does this model have wireless/ Where did yu purchase it and where do you get expansion cards etc? Thank you
Advantages: A sexy toy, erm which does lots of important things too! Disadvantages: Can only use some of the functionality with people with compatible devices.
