I love my PDA and I can’t live without it. The HP iPaq 4150 must be one of the best Pocket PC’s around. It is gorgeous, such a sleek and slim design - it has a real WOW factor. And best of all it is packed with features and so offers great value for money. Unlike many other models it has built in WiFi and Bluetooth.
Size: apparently it is one of the smallest Pocket PC’s in the market for its capacity. It size is 57.6 mm wide x 76.82 mm tall and it weighs just 190g. It neatly fits into your pocket, or your handbag (c’mon girls – we like our gadgets too). It is also really easy to handle – it sits comfortably in your hand is and does not slip.
Layout: below the large and crisp 65K colour screen are the quick use buttons and a navigation button (that acts just like a joystick). On the right, bottom panel is the infrared port – so you can beam info to and from other devices. In the centre is the charge and communications port. On the left hand side of the PDA is an additional quick use button for recording sounds – just like a Dictaphone. Above the screen is the power button and two LED lights. One warning button to tell you when the battery is low or when you have an alert, the other to tell you when you have Bluetooth or WiFi enables. On the top is there is a SD (secure digital) slot which is great for adding more storage (I have a few different SD cards now) or for attaching a digital camera. Also this is where you find the stylus and a headphone jack.
Features: WiFi (I have yet to try this out but when I do I will add it to this review) Built in Bluetooth so you can connect wirelessly with other Bluetooth devices (mobile phone and GPS receivers). I have successfully connected to an Ericson T68 – it was really simple. Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Premium Operating System Mobile versions of Microsoft Office: Pocket Outlook, Word and Excel. So you can compose emails, take notes, write lists and spreadsheet, and write Ciao reviews (!) on the move.
(I have now mastered the 'transcriber' and so I can use the stylus to write as normal - the software recognizes your script and translates it to type. This is a really quick way to write on your PDA but it does take some practice. Alternatively you can use the keyboard - which is really easy but not as fast.)
Windows media player, (which I use to play all my music conveniently added to an SD card). Also it has MSN messenger and internet explorer which will be great to use once I have the WiFi up and running. 64MB of RAM (though you can access only 55MB) and 32MB of ROM (but don’t forget you can use the SD slot to add storage). Intel’s 400Mhz XScale processor – and this for me the amazing bit: 400Mhz is the equivalent of some desktop PC’s. 1400 mAh Lithium Polymer rechargeable battery
Ease of use: it is worth reading up on this piece of kit as there are so many features but it is really easy to use and it is very quick. I had mine up and running 15 minutes. Once connected and sync-ed with my PC (via the very easy to use ActiveSync software) all my Outlook contacts, emails, tasks and notes were all transferred over. It was so easy. The battery seems to last a while too – I generally use my PDA for 1 hours a day and then have to recharge every 3-4 days.
Price: I bought this online and it cost £254.95 – this includes VAT and delivery. It comes complete with the charger adapter, desktop cradle and a carry case. However I would recommend you invest in a more robust case – say an aluminum case (these are widely available now).
My overall opinion on this product is - it is amazing. Sexy and sleek, fast and easy to use. You can’t go wrong with the HP iPaq 4150. It is ideal for work and home use - and as yet I can't think of any disadvantages.
Advantages: Features, size, weight, build quality, software Disadvantages: Voice recorded switch easily triggered, can't read screen in bright sunlight
...these handheld devices such as HP ipaq 4150 is changing rapidly, when it came out about four years ago it was the leader of the pack, today it is already trailing behind an average Smartphone. They do make good second hand buys simply because they are so adaptable to peoples needs, they can be picked up for around £50-£100 depending on condition.
Just look at its specifications, it weighs only 132g, its dimensions are only 113mm x 70mm x 13mm, not ... ...document with theses keyboards. Also HP helpline leaves a lot to be desired.
To summarise, these little devices are ideal & this particular model is better than some of the newer ones currently on the market. The ipaq4150 is well made, looks good & is worth considering even second hand. ...

Advantages: Good points? – way beats many latest pocket computers in terms of speed and graphical performance on benchmarking. Lots. Disadvantages: Its cons would only be the yellowish tint issue thingy, which you can see while using the pocket pc at a low angle. But I doubt it would bother you.
...found my new Friend – HP Ipaq H4150. To be totally honest I always knew of HP reputation and the experience on this “pocket” market. Numerous models, and advances from their own pocket predecessors.
Ok, so back to the thought of Ipaq’s h4150.

Advantages: WIFI, Bluetooth, Fast and TINY !!! Disadvantages: Slight yellow tint to the screen
If you want a PDA, then you have to check out this model. I won't list all the specs, you can find them anywhere if you want them. I'll just tell you what its like to use, and what you can do with it.
It has built in WIFI. I have a wireless home network, I can get my email on it, I can chat on Messenger, and I can surf the net, albeit not quite as well as on a pc, but far better than a WAP phone. I can do this at home, or anywhere where there is ... ...points are rapidly springing up everywhere now, but they are expensive.
It has Bluetooth. I have a bluetooth mobile phone, therefore I contacted my service provider (Orange) and got them to enable GPRS on the phone. Now I can connect anywhere via my phone and get email etc, and I only pay for the data transferred.
Its fast. Everything is instant with this beast. You press a button and its there. You can use Word, Excel, Windows Media player, Microsoft ...

The iPAQ 4150 is probabally the best all-round PDA available at the moment. Its capabilities are massive, whether you want to use it as a mini-DVD player, a book reader, or a GPS and directional system (with an extra GPS reciever), it will do the job.
The integrated WiFi and bluetooth is amazing in a device this slimline, and in general, it has better reception than my laptop with a standard WiFi card & reciever.
The screen is crisp, and crystal ... ...books on the screen is very easy, the screen is very gentle on the eyes.
The stylus is very accurate, although you either need to get a softer stylus, or go for some screen protectors to preserve the life of your screen.
Also, the intensity of the backlight on the screen does not have low enough settings, as I never take it off the lowest, and feel like I need more.
The software can sometimes be a bit of a pain, windows sometimes not living up ...
