I've been using this for some time now, and i gotta say its one of the best devices i have ever seen and used.
Starting off, is the screen. The main threat to any PDA is its screen - HP took great care of this and has included a flip screen protector on (Which can be removed, though it doesn't annoy me at all) It also has a great screen resolution - especially for movies.
Secondly is the battery life - I could play music (using the freeware TCPMP, full volume, equaliser and used mp3's from a SD Card) for around 10 hours plus - note if you turn off the screen, use the device memory etc it will give a lot more out of the device. Though the sound isn't very loud playing from the speaker, it does have very good quality playing media files.
Next is its memory. It has a brilliant device memory to store documents, sound clips
and the odd program too. It also has 2 memory card slots - both of which are in use in mine :) (please note - that if you do use a CF card it does drain the battery a little more.) Although that might be a problem with my battery - i'm surprised it hasn't blown up since i empty the battery everyday.
4th on my list is the game usage of it. I love games and that is the reason i have brought it. I tend to emulate my games so i can take them with me on one device. most pda's and phones tend not to be brilliant with gaming, since the keys are either hard to use or they dont have enough RAM - This pda is an exception. The directional buttons (strange as they might look) they are infact extremly easy to use in gaming, and the RAM is brilliant - it can handle the most demanding applications and games, while you listen to music, and it'll still laugh at you, while shouting MORE!!
5th is the feel of it. The side strips not only feel nice, it also provides more grip - Brilliant to users who tend to "drop" their device a lot (e.g. me) but ever since i have used this i've hardly ever dropped it. The device as a whole looks great as well - Most pda's look ugly, though this one seems to not appear in that category.
6th is its shere simpleness. Most people cannot use one of these straight away, but this one defies that. The start-up screen teaches the tap & hold feature, so thats the menu sorted out. It also is like a normal desktop - just click the Start button and your away. I must admit i have been using pda's and phones for around 6 years (since i was 11) so for my generation it is simplier (no offense to my parents there)
7th is the software compatibility - It has a wide range of software and games available - From audio players to system cleaners, strategie games to action. I have read a review from another user saying that it doesn't support iTunes - YES IT CAN!! As i mentioned earlier, i tend to use TCPMP for my audio & video. It is freeware and supports just about anything thrown at it. (Note, you can download seperate codecs for it by doing a little search in google - e.g. AAC Codecs for TCPMP) - It can also play flv once you have found the right codec.
8th is "how long it'll last" - Well a long time. I will never get bored of using this, and it is extremly durable - Some pda's once dropped can actually delete everything on its device storage - This one wont (Tried and tested)
9th is its connectivity. I had a hp ipaq h2210 (and loved that too) and that was great. HP have fixed the error of connecting to the nokia 6230i, and have added wi-fi to it as well. One feature i didn't find was the remote control. Not that i am bothered, i can find one easily enough, and to be honest, i never use it anyway, just a cool feature to say "haha i have a remote control on my pda!" It does have Infra-Red and USB - So its covered all connectivity so you cannot possibly complain about that. The bluetooth is outstanding - It allows you to somewhat "hack" your user by browsing their files (generally SE & Samsung are good for this)
10th on the never-ending list, is the more technical stuff. It has a great processor and a great operating system (WM5) - Addon all the RAM makes it a superb device
11th is the in-built applications. It has a mobile version of office 2003 (And 2007 is out for free as well), it has a great password facility and one of my favourite games - I'll never get bored of busting those bubbles !! Along that note, the settings available for it is outstanding too - You are able to select a skin which is always a great feature. The settings can truly make your device "right for you"
To sum it up: 100/10 - get out and buy it!
