I was originally going to buy the HX2490 but that model was being changed and wasn't available, also the HX2790 has a faster processor (I understand). I particularly wanted a machine with WiFi and Bluetooth, both these features are very well implemented on this model.
Even though I have only had the machine for a week or two I have used Wifi a lot and it is very sensitive receiving hot spots that I couldn't get with my laptop.
The screen is very clear and bright although not so clear in very bright sunshine (normal use is fine).
Early on I accidentally dropped the device and it suffered no ill effects (thank goodness).
Personally I have no use for the finger print recognition and I could see this possibly causing problems if it locked the machine and malfunctioned. However in sone circumstances it would no doubt give added security.
Thepaper manual seems a little short on detail but the manual on CD is fine.
Overall I find the HX2790 a great, easy to use, easy to sync. with the PC and well built machine.
Since writing the original review I have been asked about the battery life. Well I have rarely run it flat and it has certainly run for more than 5 hours with plenty of capacity left. I have found that it is easy to accidentally switch the device on if you put it in your pocket.
It's a light, fast machine and I have been extremely happy with it in the couple of months that I have had it.
Please could you add something about battery life, speed and weight?

Regarding battery life, I have used it for an cou[ple of hours between charges and still had over 60% of the battery left. The battery, as you would imagine, goes down faster with Wifi or Bluetooth on and of course you can buy a higher capacity battery (this is, in my opinion quite expensive, and sticks out of the back of the machine).
As you can gather from the above I have not let the battery go flat yet but according to what I have read the machine does not lose any info if you do let the battery go flat as info is stored in the type of memory that doesn't require power, as I say I haven't checked this though.

What's the battery like? And does the product retain any info if you let the battery go flat?
