MY BACKGROUND “””””””””””””””””””””""""""""""”” ” I recently experienced ‘Sod’s Law’ first hand . I had paid into a health scheme for donkey’s years but ,having changed job recently, had let my membership lapse . I had renewal forms but ,I just never got round to filling them in and sending them off . If I had paid my subscriptions through my bank it would not have been a problem . However my monthly payments came out of my salary at source so there you go .I had only claimed for costs towards spectacle and dental treatment over the years with a rare claim for being a hospital day case patient ... more

I will also touch on a few other plans that have different uses when people become ill or have an accident. Firstly, HSA ‘IS NOT’ private medical insurance. Private medical insurance is where you pay a monthly or yearly premium to receive private medical care, either by means of consultations or actual treatment. It generally covers most ... more

What is HSA? HSA is a different concept to health care and is a non-profit making organisation. HSA stands for the Hospital Saving Association. HSA will pay a tax-free sum of money covering both the member and their family if they require allergy testing, an in-patient stay in hospital or just a simple visit to the dentist, or optician, plus eighteen ... more

Advantages Advantages Pays for glasses and other things

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none really

Having realised that over two years ago I mentioned HSA in one of my reviews, I thought it was time to jot down a few words about them. They are simply a scheme that pays out whenever you have to spend money on health related treatments and services. I joined several years ago by going to the website and signing up. There are several levels of cover that you can choose, I opted for the middle level that costs me £16 per month. For this level of cover I can receive £30 per night that I spend in hospital, £110 per year towards opticians expenses, £110 towards dental treatment, £150 for ... more
