I've been with the HSBC for 2 1/2 years now, since I started at Uni. I originally joined because they did the best deal - free Student railcard for 4 years!! I have since found them an excelent bank. Telephone + Online banking are both extremely easy to use and to sign up to. If you forget your password (as I do on a regular basis) no problem, phone them up, answer a couple of questions and re-set it. If you lose your card, no problem, phone up the lost cards phone-line and they will sort it all out for you and send a new card to your nearest branch. The only problems I have had from HSBC were when I was working during the summer, and lost my card. My nearest branch doesn't open on a saturday, and as I was working at 2 different places I couldn't organise to pick it up from a branch near work. I also had some discrepancy's in information between the telephone customer service and my branch, according to arrival dates for my card. However, I complained, via email address obtained on the online banking website, which was later followed up by an email, a phonecall, a letter and a nice little bonus in my account. This is the only problem I have had from HSBC, and I was extremely happy by the way my complaint was followed up. So, happy banking, and I would definately recommend banking with HSBC.
